The Billionaires Funding India’s Far Left

Must Read

For years, the left-wing digital ecosystem has operated on a carefully manufactured myth. Portals like Newslaundry, The Red Mike, Peek TV, Altnews, The Wire, The Caravan, The News Minute have desperately tried to brand themselves as scrappy, “independent” voices of dissent speaking truth to power. They beg for public subscriptions and claim to be fighting a lonely battle against the establishment.

A deep dive into their financial lifelines, however, reveals a completely different, highly organized reality. They are not independent underdog journalists. They are the highly paid foot soldiers of a massive, billionaire-backed syndicate known as the Independent and Public-Spirited Media Foundation (IPSMF).

When you follow the money, the illusion of “independent media” shatters, revealing a coordinated cartel designed to subvert the nationalist narrative and peddle far-left, Marxist propaganda.

The IPSMF Cartel and far left connection

Established in 2015, the IPSMF functions as the ultimate financial umbrella for India’s left-wing digital ecosystem. But who is actually pumping millions into this foundation?

The list of mega-donors and trustees reads like a directory of the corporate elite and the left-wing intelligentsia. At the very core of this funding network sits Wipro founder Azim Premji, channeling massive funds through his philanthropic initiatives. He is joined by other ultra-wealthy elites and prominent public figures, including Rohini Nilekani, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, and left-leaning historian Ramachandra Guha.

The irony is staggering and intentional. We have mega-capitalists, industrialists, and Bollywood elites funneling exorbitant amounts of cash into radical left-wing, Marxist portals. One of the biggest grantees and beneficiaries of the IPSMF cartel is Alt News (Pravda Media). Through this sophisticated funding pipeline, Bollywood stars and corporate billionaires are directly bankrolling figures like Mohammed Zubair (widely referred to as “Zoo_bear” by nationalist critics).

This is the exact same Zubair who is held responsible by the Right for fueling the narratives that triggered the recent violent anti-Hindu protests. While the streets burned, the ecosystem protected him, and the billionaire class continued to subsidize his portal. Why would the absolute beneficiaries of capitalism and Bollywood fame fund an ecosystem whose ideological core is based on dismantling the Indian state and attacking Sanatan values? Because funding a perpetual anti-establishment narrative keeps the political landscape destabilized, allowing these elites to operate a proxy information war without getting their hands dirty.

Expanding the Network: The Red Mike, Newslaundry, and Peek TV

Beyond Alt News, the IPSMF is the primary financial lifeline for the most toxic elements of the left-wing media.

They heavily subsidize Newslaundry, a platform notorious for its arrogant, elitist mockery of nationalist voices and Sanatan Dharma. This ecosystem also actively props up newer Marxist-leaning outfits like The Red Mike and Peek TV. Whenever a new leftist portal emerges, claiming to be “fighting the fascist state,” you can almost guarantee that the elite funding pipelines of the IPSMF network are securing their operations in the background. They don’t rely on the truth to survive; they rely on corporate grants.

The CJP Connection: Peddling the Propaganda

The true purpose of this billionaire-funded syndicate becomes obvious during times of manufactured civil unrest.

Look no further than the recent chaotic protests orchestrated by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). When the CJP hit the streets to hurl vulgar abuses at the Prime Minister and damage public property, they needed a PR agency to sanitize their crimes. The IPSMF-funded network activated instantly.

Channels like The Red Mike, Peek TV, and Newslaundry became the absolute first choice for the CJP’s blind followers. These portals completely abandoned journalistic integrity to peddle a massive, coordinated propaganda campaign.

  • When right-wing platforms exposed the filthy abuses hurled by CJP agitators, this media cartel immediately rushed to defend the abusers, spinning fake narratives about “youth anger” and “instigation.”

  • They suppressed the reality of the riots and amplified the CJP’s manufactured victimhood.

  • They functioned not as news outlets, but as the official, well-funded propaganda wing of the rioters.

This is exactly why they are funded. The CJP creates the chaos on the streets, and the IPSMF-funded Marxist media creates the intellectual cover online.

The Illusion is Dead

The next time a journalist from Alt News, Newslaundry, The Red Mike, or Peek TV lectures the country on “independent journalism” or begs for crowdfunding, remember exactly who signs their checks.

They are not fighting the elite; they are funded by the elite. The billions flowing from Wipro’s Azim Premji, Bollywood elites like Aamir Khan, and the rest of the IPSMF cartel into the bank accounts of these Marxist portals proves that this is a highly lucrative, coordinated business of subversion.

The Leli ecosystem’s cover is blown. The money trail is out in the open. The days of these corporate-funded propagandists masquerading as independent truth-tellers are officially over.
