The recent tragic death of three UPSC aspirants in old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi has left everyone shocked. The incident occurred in the basement of Rau’s IAS coaching center where the students were studying when the basement flooded, leading to their tragic demise.
Reportedly, the coaching center was issued a fire safety certificate just 18 days before the incident. The certificate issued by Kejriwal led-AAP government calls the basement a ‘Storage.’ However, the center was illegally operating it as a library. Similarly, a NOC was also issued just a month ago allowing the use of basement as storage. Such incidents point towards major corruption in the issuance of these certificates by the AAP government. As clearly, they were issued despite several violations. In fact, the presence of biometric lock on the only door of the basement was also in clear violation of the norms.
Furthermore, Times Now reported that someone had filed a complaint just a month ago about the same basement being used as a library illegally. However, despite reminders, no action was taken.

‘Not Just An Accident But Murder’…
Reacting to this tragic loss of lives. BJP National Spokesperson, Shri Shehzad Poonawalla slammed the AAP led Delhi government. He posted a video on X, stating, “This is not an accident but a murder committed by the Aam Aadmi Party. it is criminal negligence due to which at least two girls have lost their lives.”
Referring to the recent deaths of UPSC aspirants, Mr. Poonawalla said, “Many deaths have occurred in a similar manner. Do the lives of Delhiites have no value? The only priority of (Chief Minister) Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party government is to hold press conferences, give advertisements and blame others.” He further added, “AAP’s priority is to save Kejriwal from the liquor scam but they don’t care about the lives of the residents of Delhi…Recently we saw deaths of UPSC aspirant due to electrocution & water logging. What happened to the desilting of Nalas ? Where has the money gone? It has been siphoned off.. clear case of Jaan leva corruption.”
While holding AAP responsible, he also slammed the Congress and INDI alliance party leaders for being unable to even name AAP and demand accountability.
The tragedy has sparked a public outcry, with the students staging protests in Old Rajinder Nagar, demanding justice. The BJP is also protesting outside the AAP office demanding accountability and resignation of the AAP minister Atishi. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police on Sunday, arrested the owner and the coordinator of the Rau’s IAS coaching center where the flooding incident happened.
