India Smashes ISI Backed Gang with 200+ Arrests

Must Read

When a terror network’s logistical spine is snapped, its handlers inevitably resort to cheap theatrics. This is exactly what is playing out with Pakistan-based gangster and ISI terror proxy, Shahzad Bhatti.

Following a massive, coordinated pre-Independence Day crackdown by Indian security agencies that saw the arrest of over 200 operatives and the detention of 253 suspects across 14 states, a visibly rattled Bhatti has released an aggressive yet defensive video from his cross-border hiding place.

The Face-Saving Meltdown: “You Arrested Cockroaches”

Operating from safe havens – reportedly moving between Pakistan and the UAE—Bhatti is now desperately trying to downplay the devastating blow delivered to his syndicate. In a video circulating on social media, the gangster attempted to distance himself from the dismantled sleeper cells.

Attempting to project strength, Bhatti claimed that the individuals arrested by Indian agencies were not his real operatives, but merely members of the “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP). According to his bizarre defense, he stated: “You have arrested Cockroaches… my real men are still roaming free.” He further boasted that even if 300 associates were caught, he still has an army of 3,000 more ready to execute terrorist activities.

Security experts and intelligence observers see right through the bluster. This is the classic, panicked reaction of a handler under immense pressure from his ISI bosses. When your domestic sleeper cells are uprooted, your weapons seized, and your espionage networks exposed, filming a threatening video from a foreign safe house is nothing more than cowardly damage control.

The Reality: A Network Ripped Apart

Bhatti’s claims of his network remaining untouched contradict the hard reality on the ground. The coordinated August 12 operation—executed via a real-time intelligence-sharing grid involving central agencies and state police forces—was one of the most extensive counter-terror sweeps in recent years.

The raids yielded undeniable proof of the network’s cross-border operations. Security forces recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades stamped with Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) markings, pistols, live ammunition, and CCTV cameras intended for espionage and reconnaissance of security installations.

The Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN) operated on a hybrid warfare model: using online radicalization on social media to lure vulnerable, disgruntled youth into executing tasks ranging from arms smuggling via drones to targeted killings. By neutralizing this pipeline, Indian agencies successfully thwarted planned subversive attacks aimed at disrupting the nation’s 79th Independence Day celebrations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah publicly confirmed the complete destruction of this ISI-backed syndicate, calling it a brilliant example of India’s proactive defense.

How India is Countering the Threat

India’s response to the ISI-gangster nexus represents a fundamental shift in counter-terrorism strategy. The government is no longer waiting for tragedies to occur before reacting.

Through its uncompromising “zero-tolerance” policy towards cross-border terrorism, India has weaponized multi-agency coordination. By fusing human intelligence with digital forensics and real-time data sharing across state borders, agencies are mapping financial hawala trails and crushing the terror-narcotics ecosystem before it can strike.

Shahzad Bhatti may hide in Dubai or Pakistan, issuing empty threats and calling his own neutralized recruits “Cockroaches” to save his pride. But the message from the Indian security establishment is absolute: the domestic terror proxies have been ripped apart, and the offshore handlers are running out of space to hide.
