Bahraich Encounter: Yogi’s ‘Thok Denge’ Vs Opposition’s ‘Chhod Denge’

Must Read

The recent Bahraich encounter in Uttar Pradesh has reignited the debate over CM Yogi Adityanath’s hardline stance on crime. The police shot two “peaceful” accused while they allegedly tried to flee to Nepal.

The opposition has questioned the necessity of the encounter, but the Yogi administration remains firm, defending its tough-on-crime approach. The incident highlights the difference between Yogi’s policy of ‘Thok Denge’ and the opposition’s more lenient ‘Chhod Denge’ stance towards handling criminals.

Bahraich Accused And Their Alleged Attempt To Flee

The Bahraich incident unfolded when five accused, tortured, and killed an innocent Hindu  Ram Gopal Mishra. The cause of conflict stated by the accused was the removal of a Green Islamic Flag replacing it with a Bhgwa Flag! This 22-year-old Hindu man was the husband of 4 months. His nails were pulled out, his eyes were damaged, and he suffered torture before he was shot at point-blank range. The accused were caught by the UP police as the Hindu community boiled in protest over this needless loss of life in the name of the ‘flag’!

However, of the 5 “peacefuls,” two allegedly decided to try their luck and escape to Nepal.

The UP police, acting on intelligence, intercepted them to ensure they kept their date with the law! According to reports, the accused tried to evade capture, which prompted the police to shoot at their legs to immobilize them. The police claim this was done to prevent the suspects from escaping justice by seeking asylum with “peaceful” gangs in Nepal.

The attempt to flee raised questions about the accused’s intentions and their involvement in heinous crimes, including the brutal torture of a young Ram Gopal Mishra before killing him.

The violent nature of the crime has stirred anger across Uttar Pradesh, with netizens and citizens praising the swift action of the police to ensure these criminals were brought to justice.

Opposition’s Outrage Over Bahraich Encounter: Love + Sympathy for “Peaceful” Criminals?

In the aftermath of the encounter, opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and Asaduddin Owaisi were quick to criticize the UP police’s actions. Reports state that MP Yadav called the incident an “administrative failure” and accused the government of using encounters to cover up its shortcomings.

MP Owaisi, too, condemned the encounter, calling it a continuation of Yogi’s ‘Thok Denge’ policy, which he believes unfairly targets certain communities.

The families of the accused came out to play the well-worn Victim Card. They sought public sympathy and political protection, claiming the arrest and encounter were painful to the kin and kin of the accused. However, the gravity of the crimes committed by the suspects has left many Hindus questioning why the opposition is defending those accused of such brutal acts. The Karuna Bhav or compassion that Hindus often extend in moments of distress seems exhausted, especially in the face of such violence.

There is growing support for the Yogi administration’s resolve to handle criminals with an iron fist, rather than allowing them to escape punishment.

CM Yogi’s Legacy of Law Enforcement

Yogi Adityanath’s tenure as Chief Minister has been marked by a firm approach to law and order. Nearly 13,000 encounters have been reported since 2017. Over 200 suspected criminals have died, and more than 1,600 have been injured. However, the encounter does not target any specific community. Reports state that of the 200 dead, 67 were “peacefuls” criminals and 79 Hindu criminals! And before the INDI Alliance uses their ‘Caste Card;’ of the 79 Hindus – 20 Brahmin, 18 Thakur, 16 Yadav, 14 Dalit, 3 ST,  and 8 OBC criminals were killed by the police bullet. The remianing 54 encounter deaths belonged criminals of other minority religions. Thus, UP Police’s bullet does not go looking for caste or religion, just criminals trying to evade the law!!!

Thus, the Bahraich encounter is the latest in a series of high-profile operations designed to send a clear message: under Yogi’s rule, there will be no safe haven for criminals.

The ‘Thok Denge’ policy, like the Bulldozer policy, is controversial. However, it finds support among many who believe it has helped reduce crime in Uttar Pradesh. Law and order statistics show a decrease in violent crimes. Areas once dominated by criminal gangs under SP rule are now returning to normalcy. While critics argue that encounters circumvent due process, supporters of the policy argue that it has restored a sense of safety in communities long plagued by crime.

Bahraich Encounter – A Clear Message

The Lok Sabha election results have emboldened the “peacefuls” in hopes of political appeasement from the INDI Alliance. Add to that the Supreme Court’s approach to Bulldozer Action has allowed these “peacefuls” to vent their Hindu Hatred through- murder, mayhem, and mockery of Sanatanis!

Thus, the Bahraich encounter is a clear warning to the criminal “peacefuls” of the Yogi Administration. CM Yogi Adityanath’s government is showing the nation that it takes a no-nonsense approach towards crime. Thereby, ensuring that criminals face the consequences of their actions. On the other hand, it also exposes the opposition’s love for the appeasement of “peacefuls”!

Hindus can clearly see the INDI Alliance’s more lenient stance and priorities in play – their sympathy lies with those who commit the crime!!

These spikes in crime in Uttar Pradesh are the consequence of voting for SP and INC in Lok Sabha 2024! However, the message from the Yogi administration is clear: criminals will not be able to terrorize communities or escape justice. While ‘rudali rona‘ shall continue for days pleading for leniency, the people of Bahraich and Bharat heartily welcome the encounters. Hindus, weary of violence and crime, want a leader like CM Yogi who is tough and uncompromising on the path of justice!
