TMC Goons Lathicharged by Central Forces

Must Read

Anyone tracking the West Bengal elections knows exactly how the story usually goes. Goons show up, opposition agents get thrown out, and the polling stations get hijacked. But this time around, that old playbook is completely falling apart. A massive deployment of over 2.4 lakh Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) jawans has hit the ground, and they are actively shutting down widespread TMC booth capturing attempts. Instead of state police looking the other way, these central forces are finally giving the local muscle a real fight.

The Jawans Push Back

The ground reality in places like Murshidabad, Howrah, and Birbhum has been intense. TMC workers rolled up to polling stations trying to intimidate voters and cause chaos. At Booth 65 in Khoyrasol, they even started pelting stones to clear the area. But the central jawans didn’t just stand back and watch. They immediately brought out the lathis, dispersed the violent crowds, and started throwing miscreants into police vans on the spot. If you try to pull off TMC booth capturing right now, you aren’t walking away quietly.

Opposition Under Fire

The sheer desperation from the local goons is hard to ignore. When they realize they can’t easily rig the boxes, they turn to outright physical attacks. In Dakshin Dinajpur, suspected TMC workers literally chased down and beat up BJP candidate Suvendu Sarkar just because he tried to protect his polling agents. Over in Nadia, rival agents were brutally attacked with iron rods. It’s clear that without heavy central security, holding a fair election here is practically impossible.

Bombs and Hypocrisy

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been vocal about her anger over these central troops, claiming the heavy security is meant to intimidate her party. But when you look at the facts, her complaints fall flat. Just days ago, police pulled nearly 100 live, crude bombs out of a TMC worker’s house in Bhangar. When your local party workers are hoarding explosives right before voting day, you absolutely need heavily armed jawans patrolling the streets.

A Breathing Space for Voters

For the average voter in Bengal, seeing the CAPF step up is a massive relief. For way too long, the people have been suffocated by a political system that runs entirely on fear and violence. By swinging their lathis and actively blocking TMC booth capturing, the central forces are sending a brutal wake-up call to the local syndicates. The days of winning a seat just by terrifying a neighborhood are finally hitting a brick wall.
