Ayodhya, the revered birthplace of Lord Ram, buzzes with anticipation as it gears up for a momentous event – the consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Temple scheduled for January 22. Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, provided insights into the preparations.
Idol Selection and Ceremony:
A pivotal aspect of the preparations revolves around selecting the idol for the pran prathistha ceremony in Ayodhya. From three meticulously crafted idols of Lord Ram, the one sculpted by Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru emerged as the chosen one for the consecration.
The selection process entailed a careful consideration of various criteria. They included a child-like face with a divine glow, correct limb proportions, and a stout personality befitting Lord Ram’s stature.

Fate of Other Idols:
Mr. Giri assured that the remaining two idols would receive due honor within the temple premises. One of them will be retained for measuring the clothes and ornaments of Prabhu Shri Ram.
The original idol, standing at a modest height of five to six inches, will occupy a special place in front of the main idol, underscoring its historical and symbolic importance.
Spiritual and Nationalistic Significance:
Characterizing the event as a historic Deepavaliafter 500 years, Mr. Giri conveyed the prevailing sense of joy and respect across the nation. He observed a growing interest among the youth in spiritualism and nationalistic emotions. Even those seeking logical and scientific explanations find themselves drawn to these sentiments.

Sanatan Dharma:
In a subtle retort to critics, Mr. Giri stressed the importance of comprehending Sanatan Dharma. He clarified that dharma is not merely a religion or a form of worship but encompasses the underlying laws governing nature and faith. Drawing a parallel to scientific principles, he highlighted that understanding and following these eternal principles lead to benefits. Ignoring them results in missed opportunities.
