The National Investigation Agency has officially filed a chargesheet in a special Vijayawada court against nine operatives of a highly organised ISIS terror module.
This was not a group of misguided youth suffering from mental health issues, as certain sections of the media often claim. These individuals were actively preparing to establish a caliphate in India through violent jihad, weapons training, and bomb making.

The accused—Mohammad Rehmatullah Shariff, Mohammed Danish, Mirza Sohail Baig, Lucky Ahmad, Jishan Abdul Majid, Mir Ashif Ali, Abdul Salaam, Sharuk Khan, and Shaikh Faiz ur Rehman—were running a sophisticated recruitment network. With 11 accused and one minor arrested in total, the sheer scale of this operation is undeniable.
Their operational blueprint was clear. The module used social media platforms, specifically Instagram, to identify, groom, and radicalise young Indian Muslims into adopting the violent ideologies of ISIS and Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).
They were not just sharing propaganda. The investigation revealed that these operatives were actively gathering materials to manufacture explosives and organizing weapons training. They even developed and successfully tested a secure, custom communication application to coordinate their terror activities away from the eyes of Indian intelligence.
Exposing the Deniers ISIS
The case was initially registered on 23 March 2026 at the Vijayawada II Town police station before the NIA took over the investigation. The accused have now been slapped with heavy charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
