In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has neutralized a highly active sleeper module of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). A coordinated, multi-state offensive spanning several districts of Gujarat—Banaskantha, Patan, and Navsari, as well as Dewas in Madhya Pradesh- led to the arrest of eight radical operatives.
The cell was operating under a newly formed front called “Darul Islam Gujarat Jaish-e-Mohammed,” with the explicit objective of spreading violent terrorism, recruiting local youth, and establishing an infrastructure to execute future terror attacks within the state.
The Blueprint of the Module
The investigation has unmasked a highly structured radical network leveraging deep-cover logistics:
-
The Foreign Handlers: Intercepted digital footprints confirm the operatives were in direct, continuous contact with Pakistan-based JeM handlers identified as Abdullah and Mohammad Umar.

Weaponizing Educational Hubs: Shockingly or not so shockingly, several operatives were utilizing religious and educational centers, including the Jamia Abul Hasan Madrasa in Patan and the Jamia Rahmaniya Khambhiya in Navsari, as operational cover to radicalize youth and coordinate logistics.
-
Targeted Propaganda: The module specialized in translating extremist Urdu literature into Gujarati to create a localized supply of radical content to lure fresh recruits.
