Increasing Anti-Semitism in America

Must Read

On 10th December 1998, the United Nations General Assembly recognized anti – Semitism as a form of racism. Yet, even now, America is witnessing historic increase in it. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reports that since the October 7th attack of Hamas on Israel. There has been a significant increase in anti-Semitism across U.S. According to preliminary data from the ADL Center on Extremism, there was a 388 % increase in reported incidents of assault, vandalism, and harassment during the same period last year.

Since the massacre in which about 1200 Israeli civilians were killed. The attacks against Jews have increased. Incidents like posters of Jewish people who were held hostages being torn under the guise of “Occupiers” to slogans like “From Land to Sea” (to completely destroy Israel) have become common. It’s appalling to see administrators of Ivy league universities being taciturn in condemning the attacks on Jews on their campuses.

This rise in Anti-Semitism is on account of various reasons. America as such is a highly propaganda based society. Historically, since they were once monotheistic in nature. Demanding compliance and conformity, the imposition of homogenous mass belief has been crucial to their operation. After World War II, there has been a decline in people practicing religion in America. The simultaneous increase in technology just created different means of mass control and led to the rise of post church institutions like- Think Tanks, Lobby groups, Universities and Media etc.

These post church institutes being capitalistic in nature became peddlers of any kind of propaganda for profit. Now there are so many players involved that it’s difficult to identify and isolate. According to recent reports, Qatar has made approximately $5 billion investments in the American higher education system. Prior to that, Saudi Arabia made significant investments. Since 2013, the PRC has been the main source of foreign funding for universities in the United States. The Chinese companies have contributed more than $426 million in contracts or donations to American universities since 2011. These can be acts of charity but can also be calculated attempts to shape public perception in the United States.

Today, the effects of “x” number of agents being involved with their own agendas and vested interests is evident. Americans have become more and more binary in their thinking.

They perceive the modern world in a perilously simplistic terms, viewing everybody as either “oppressors” or “oppressed”. This is conveniently aligned with the interests of those who paid the piper.

Witnessing the increasing incidents of anti-Semitism against Jews and the rising racism against Indians. Hindus in the US should be extremely concerned about themselves. In the light of paid propaganda and information warfare being waged against India. Americans are going to get more and more paranoid. A recent Harvard CAPS poll indicates that 51% of American voters aged 18 to 24  believe that the October 7 killing of 1,200 Israeli civilians being warranted due to Palestinian grievances. This indicates how much their media industry and educational institutes are compromised.

Racist attacks have already been happening against Indians in America. Just like Jews are being cornered. Indians are being attacked by similar group of Islamists, Khalistani and White nationalists. This hate in them is largely politically fueled but directed against all Indians. They view all Indians as Hindus and pass racial slurs and threats under the guise of “Cheap Labour” to justify their violence and racism. Unlike their hate for Jewish people. They are not only critical of our government and nationalism but against Hindutva and the whole religion itself!!

Unlike the Jewish people who have been more collective and vocal about their genocide and their rights. Indians living in Silicon Valley have been mostly oblivious to the increasing Hinduphobia in their media and academia. They are still unable to connect the dots between the attacks (terrorists or otherwise) being inflicted on India and the paid propagandas in academic institutes by geopolitical forces.

Given the circumstances, we must not only show humanity and support to the Israeli’s but should become more collective as a society. They should get more involved with other minority groups and raise their voice against bigotry, hate and discrimination. We should not only become more vocal but should try to reclaim our history / culture from the shackles of colonial distortions. Indian politicians and businessmen should invest in research and development of Bharatiya version of social sciences. Be it Ayurveda or Arthashastra.
