Karnataka has been facing political scandals, anti-Hindu policies, and scams ever since they chose the Congress party that formed the government. Under CM Siddaramaiah the tech hub turned into a tanker hub; where prices of milk, petrol, electricity, and daily needs rise every day. However, the recent MUDA scandal casts a large shadow on the CON party and its Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.

A police complaint has been filed against CM Siddaramaiah and 9 others, including his wife Parvathi and her brother Mallikarjun. The allegations involve the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), a significant body in the state’s urban development landscape. Let’s explore!

MUDA Scam Accusations On Karnataka CM and Kin

The police complaint was lodged by social activist Sneha Krishna at the Vijayanagar Police Station in Mysuru. She accuses CM Siddaramaiah’s wife of being a beneficiary of a MUDA decision in 2021. This decision involved allocating a substantial land plot and compensation for the alleged illegal acquisition of 3.16 acres of land. According to the complaint, numerous individuals received larger than entitled plots. Additionally, the locations of these compensatory plots were where land values were higher than where they originally resided. Thereby, resulting in significant losses for the Karnataka government to the tune of 4,000 crores.

Initially, the 3.16 acres of land in question was reportedly owned by CM Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law, Mallikarjun.

Later he gifted this land to his sister Parvathi, the wife of CM Siddaramaiah.

The allegations go back to 2004 right before the CON party government lost the elections to BJP. Allegedly, CM Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law Mallikarjun illegally obtained the land using forged documents. The government officials and revenue departments helped the Karnataka CM’s family. Thereafter, the wife of CM Siddaramaiah, Parvathi, and another person allegedly used these documents to defraud the BJP government to the tune of crores of rupees from MUDA. The market value of the land sites for which Karnataka CM’s wife was compensated is significantly higher than the original land in Kesari village.

Karnataka Under Political Turmoil

Opposition leaders are now raising questions about the legality of the compensation. Many assert that several CON party loyalists along with CM Siddaramaiah were awarded similar lands before the CON party went out of power. Karnataka BJP leaders claim that the entire MUDA scam is worth thousands of crores and are demanding a CBI investigation.

Despite these calls, Karnataka HM G. Parameshwara has stated there is no need for a CBI probe or the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct the investigation.

Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated. In a statement, he pointed out that the BJP was in power in 2021 when the plots were allotted. He stressed that the accusations were baseless and aimed at tarnishing his government’s image. And counter the rising fury in the state, the CON party CM has pulled out his victim card. He accuses the opposition of framing him due to his OBC status! He claims that they are upset that an OBC has become CM two times. And thus are trying to damage his reputation at all costs!! However, how can a party that has chosen an OBC PM three times in a row get upset with an OBC CM?

A Pattern of Bad Policies

This isn’t the first time the CON party’s Karnataka government has faced corruption allegations. The CON party has placed distinct anti-Hindu policies in place. Firstly, the government wants to use the temple funds and donations to fulfill their poll promise to Hindu pilgrims. However, a similar rule does not apply to their Muslim vote bank that continues to enjoy government-funded Hajj.

Secondly, the Karnataka government stands accused of misappropriating funds meant for SC/ST to fulfill their “CONgress Ki Panch Guarantees” in the state. The former Minister for Scheduled Tribes Welfare, B. Nagendra, was made to resign in June this year for the same. Currently, the diversion of 37% of funds meant for the upliftment of SC/ST under government schemes and the misuse of Valmiki ST welfare board funds are under investigation.

Now, the CON party faces allegations of a new scam – MUDA! The Congress government loyalists and the Karnataka CM himself are once again under intense scrutiny. The unfolding drama not only challenges the government’s integrity but also its ability to deliver on its promises wihtout corruption.

The Need for Transparency and Accountability

The CON party seems like a basket full of bad decisions that aim to defraud the common man. This latest scandal highlights how the CON party loyalists could have been rewarded for their ‘hard work’ by the outgoing government in collusion with government officials. Therefore, it underscores the urgent need to hold Karnataka CM and his party members accountable in this government dealings.

The denial and ‘brush under the carpet’ attitude asks why the Karnataka government does not want a CBI probe in the matter. Do they want to hide a few skeletons in their closets? The Hindus of Karnataka have to live with the unfortunate reality of their unwisely cast votes. Rising prices and increasing scandals have made Karnataka the Scam Station witness the truth of CON party politics! Let’s observe how the MUDA scam is investigated and if these accusations stick to dirty the ‘not-so-Sidha’ CM Siddaramaiah!
