Consequently, the tragedy unfolding in Afghanistan raises urgent questions for global women’s empowerment movements. Will they rally to the cause of Afghan women? Or will they remain silent as their sisters are erased? Where are those powers who vouched for the Taliban 2.0? Where are the voices of Rana Ayyubs, Arfa Khanums, and Sayeema condemning these laws? Why is the UN’s Human Rights Obeserver silent? Is this not Gender Aparthied?

While the human rights NGOs watch quietly, the Taliban continues its assault on women’s rights, stripping them of their humanity.

This is not just an Afghan problem, it is a global issue. Taliban presents the world of Sharia to the Ummah. Hence, every devout Muslim wants to live in a society similar to that in Afghanistan. Hence, for every woman who is silenced in Afghanistan, the shockwaves of her silence are a blow to the rights of women everywhere. The Taliban’s actions should alarm us all. Their mindset is dangerous, rooted in a deep-seated belief that women are inferior, to be controlled and hidden away.

Therefore, if left unchallenged and unchecked, this ideology will spread throughout the Muslim world.

Thereafter, it will threaten the hard-won rights of women across the globe.

Hence, women cannot afford to stay silent. Each female must speak up for the Afghan women who can no longer speak for themselves. Moreover, the world must fight for a future where no woman lives as a ghost in her own land, silenced and unseen. The world owes it to Afghan women to stand with them in their time of need! The women of world need to come together to fight for their freedom, dignity, and the right to simply exist.
