Bulldozer Model Rocks University of Amsterdam

Must Read

The University of Amsterdam saw the effectiveness of CM Yogi’s Bulldozer Model in dismantling ‘peacful’ protests! In a recent display of misguided activism, over 140 students found themselves on the wrong side of a conversation. Consequently, the Dutch authorities used bulldozers to dismantle encampments at the University of Amsterdam. Why? Because they were protesting against Israel’s actions in Gaza. However, unlike other social movements these protests took on the usual ‘peaceful’ flavor. Let’s talk!

No ‘Peace’ In ‘Peaceful’ Protests at University of Amsterdam

Students of all faiths united at the University of Amsterdam to protest against Israel’s actions against Hamas in Gaza. These confused students, ignorant of the historical context of the Israel-Hamas war, wreaked havoc in a place of education with a false idea of activism.

Unfortunately, most of the protestors were ‘peacefuls’ and they brought their ‘acts of peace’ into the protests.

The ‘peacefuls’ blocked Jewish and non-aligned students from going to their lecture halls. Moreover, they escalated the situation to bring the educational institution’s functioning to a grinding halt by barricading the roads and setting up unauthorized encampments. Some ‘peaceful’ protestors were even headed toward the Holocaust Memorial on the campus to further their ‘Peaceful’ cause. Consequently, the Jews and non-aligned students faced discrimination and physical assault by ‘peaceful’ protestors. Thus, the protest devolved into a chaotic scene of violence and disorder.

Bulldozer Model in Action

The University of Amsterdam protest mirrored similar situations that have swept across US campuses, echoing calls for solidarity with Palestine. However, most of these protestors would be unable to name five nations in the Middle East. Nor would they be able to point to Gaza on the world map. Therefore, their calls for justice are a half-cooked desire to revolt against authority. Consequently, instead of trying to open up to constructive dialogue and debates, the protests descended into scenes of unrest, jeopardizing public safety and hindering non-aligned students.

Therefore, Dutch authorities resorted to a heavy-handed approach. They used batons to disperse protesters and bulldozers to clear their encampments. Thereby, reflecting a growing frustration with the reckless behavior of some ‘peaceful’ activists that harm the general public. While the right to protest is a fundamental aspect of democracy, it must not come at the expense of public safety or the rule of law. The situation at the University became so bad that Amsterdam’s Mayor authorized the police to don their riot gear while dealing with the protesting students. More than 140 people were arrested for obstructing the police’s work. Unfortunately, even when faced with police action, the students chanted ‘Shame on You’ and ‘Free Palestine.’

The protesters’ demands for the University of Amsterdam to sever ties with Israel reveal a shallow understanding of geopolitics and international relations. Despite the University fulfilling their demand to show which courses aligned with universities in Israel, the core group of protestors was unsatisfied. It seems that under the guise of demanding a complete break of ties between the University and Israel, they wanted to riot in the name of Gaza.

While it is essential to raise awareness of global issues, such demands overlook the complexities of the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

The protesting students seem unaware that Hamas is using the Palestinians as human shields in the war. Moreover, they are convoluting the Palestinian fight for freedom with the Hamas’ act of terrorism. It is not Israel who has brought Palestine and its people this war. It was Hamas who deliberately provoked the Jewish nation into retaliating in full force.

Thus, by calling their protest a ‘Pro-Palestine’ movement, the students are implying two things:
  1. Hamas represents all of Palestine.
  2. Using Palestinians as human shields is justified but Israel’s action against horrific acts of terror is subjugation.

Both these erroneous arguments make it impossible for constructive engagement in seeking a resolution to the protest. Furthermore, the resort to violence, including hurling stones and fireworks at law enforcement officers and burning Israel’s flag, undermines the credibility of the protesters’ message and tarnished the reputation of the broader movement. Instead of fostering meaningful change, such ‘peaceful’ protests only serve to undermine the Gazan cause and detract from the legitimate grievances of the people.

World Accepts Yogi’s Bulldozer Model?

In contrast to the chaos unfolding at the University of Amsterdam, the world has witnessed the benefits of a more pragmatic approach to ‘peacefuls.’ CM Yogi Adityanath’s Bulldozer Model for Bharat was first useful in France and now in the Netherlands. Why? Because it prioritizes efficiency and accountability. It seems CM Yogi’s Bulldozer approach is the most successful way of delivering tangible results when dealing with matters of ‘peace.’

Amsterdam is set to more protests from University staff as well as students activists. Thus, the world may hear of more Bulldozers being put to use against ‘peaceful’ agitations. Therefore, true activists that want results need to reflect on the lessons learned from this incident. They must prioritize dialogue, cooperation, and respect for the rule of law. Only when the ‘Right to Protest’ walks hand in hand with responsible behavior will the people constructively engage with the movement. Else ‘peaceful’ activism will meet swift and sure Bulldozers and riot gears in the world.
