100 Bombs Seized from TMC Stronghold Rafikul Islam

Must Read

The reality of West Bengal’s election machinery has been completely exposed to the entire nation. During the final week of April 2026, police forces conducted critical search operations in the highly sensitive Bhangar area of South 24 Parganas. During these aggressive raids, law enforcement recovered approximately 100 crude, live bombs from the residence of an alleged Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker named Rafikul Islam. Consequently, this massive seizure has triggered absolute panic across the district. Finding 79 bombs neatly tied with jute ropes, followed by more explosives the very next day, proves that the TMC bomb culture is a deadly ground reality.

The NIA Takes Over the Investigation

Because this staggering weapons stash poses a direct threat to national security, the central government immediately intervened. The Ministry of Home Affairs officially ordered the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take over the probe on April 27. Furthermore, the Election Commission of India took extremely strict cognizance of the terrifying situation. The EC explicitly warned local police officers that if they fail to clear illegal explosives within 24 hours, they will face unprecedented consequences. The fact that an anti-terror agency must step in to secure a local state election highlights the complete collapse of state law and order.

The Deadly Network of Bomb-Makers

Crucially, the Rafikul Islam incident is not an isolated event. The NIA is currently investigating a massive, interconnected network of political bomb-makers. Just recently, locals captured and handed over TMC strongman Wahidul Islam Molla to the authorities. The NIA reports that Molla was directly involved in a horrific March blast in Bhangar. During that specific incident, TMC booth president Mosiur Kazi was literally killed while assembling crude bombs. Furthermore, on April 27, police discovered eight more live bombs dumped right next to a primary school in Habra. Therefore, the explosives are actively spreading into civilian areas.

Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Favourite’ Candidate

The timing of these massive bomb recoveries makes the situation incredibly controversial. Just days before this explosive haul, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee publicly praised Soukat Molla, explicitly referring to him as her “favourite candidate.” For years, opposition parties have openly accused Molla and his close associate, Wahidul Islam, of actively running bomb-manufacturing networks in the Bhangar region. Therefore, when the top leader actively patronizes such figures, the public is absolutely not surprised that local TMC workers are caught running bomb factories inside their homes.

The True Reality of TMC Governance

The massive cache of explosives found across South 24 Parganas leaves absolutely no room for doubt. The TMC bomb culture reveals that the ruling party is actively relying on a pre-poll terror infrastructure to secure its political dominance. Instead of fighting elections through good governance and development, the TMC ecosystem relies heavily on fear, muscle power, and illegal arms. As the NIA actively digs deeper into the supply chain of these explosives, the dark, violent reality of West Bengal’s criminalized politics is finally facing national scrutiny.
