The BJP party has hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her allegedly threatening states and protesting doctors during a public rally on Wednesday. She had alleged that PM Modi is using the BJP to cause fire in West Bengal over the RG Kar rape murder case. Continuing further, she warned that ‘if Bengal burns, so will North East, Assam, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. We’ll topple your chair.’
‘How Dare You Threaten Assam?’
Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sharma, slammed Mamata Banerjee over her ‘burn’ remark and asked how dare she threaten the state. He claimed that Mamata Banerjee was trying to provoke the public in order to hide her own failures.
In a post on X, he tweeted, “Didi, how dare you threaten Assam? Don’t show us red eyes. Don’t even try to burn India with your politics of failure. It does not suit you to speak divisive language.”
আপনার অসফলতার… pic.twitter.com/k194lajS8s

Assam Minister, Piyush Hazarika said, “She can’t bully, she can’t threaten us. She can’t control law and order in her state and is threatening us. It will not happen in Assam, I am assuring you. I can assure you she can’t do anything in Assam, until the BJP govt is here and Himanta Biswa Sarma is the CM.”
Manipur CM Hits Out
Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh lashed out at Mamata Banerjee. “How dare Didi threaten the Northeast? I condemn such irresponsible remarks in the strongest terms. She must publicly apologize to the Northeast and the rest of the nation,” he wrote on X.
He further added,”@MamataOfficial Ji must immediately stop inciting violence and hatred with divisive politics. It is highly unbecoming of a political leader to issue threats of violence on a public platform.”

‘Priority Not Justice But Revenge?’
Commenting upon her speech, BJP National Spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla said, “140 crore Indians are demanding justice for the daughter of West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee’s priority is not justice but revenge. When a CM says Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Northeast and Odisha will burn, I want to ask if Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, AAP or Gaurav Gogoi support this statement? Are the people who are demanding justice causing unrest? It is an insult to the protesters and doctors when Mamata Banerjee says that demanding justice is like causing unrest. She is making anti-Constitutional statements and Rahul Gandhi, who roams around with a copy of the Constitution, does not speak a word on it…”

Threat To Doctors?
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that Mamata Banerjee straight away threatened the doctors with her statements. He said, “First saving the accused, then derailing the investigation, destroying evidence, then threatening the protesters and today after Mamata ji’s PC, her statement is that I do not want to file an FIR against the doctors because if this happens, passport and visa will not be available. Meaning, in a web of words, a kind of threat is being given that we can destroy your career by filing an FIR.”
During his press conference, he criticised the Mamata Banerjee and said that “how the constitution is in danger can be clearly seen in Bengal.” He added, “We are not saying that the incident could have happened anywhere in your state or our state but the attitude of the government after that is worrying and unforgivable. Because it did not happen that even after the crime, evidence was destroyed or the crime scene was vandalized. The protesters were threatened by the ministers that if any finger was raised towards Mamata, it would be broken.”
