Woman Doctor Found Dead In Kolkata: BJP Alleges ‘Cover-Up’!

On Friday, a woman doctor’s semi nude body inside the seminar hall of a government-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The victim was a second year, post graduate trainee (PGT) doctor at the hospital. Her father asserts that someone raped and murdered her at the hospital, and there are ongoing efforts to conceal the truth. The BJP in West Bengal have launched a massive protest demanding justice for the woman.

According to the police sources, she was on night duty on Thursday and had gone to the seminar hall after dinner. “She also had dinner with her juniors at around 2 AM then went to the seminar room since there is no separate on-call room to take some rest. In the morning, we found her body there,” a doctor of the hospital told PTI. As per reports, the victim had bleeding from both eyes, injuries on face, legs, ankle and in belly area. Sharing the harrowing details of these reports, BJP leader Amit Malviya questioned the safety of woman in Bengal.

Amit Malviya Slams TMC…

While on one hand, the doctors are protesting and demanding justice for the victim. They are also raising voice over the prevalent lack of security in the hospital. An eleven member committee has been formed for this incident. However, it has come to notice that some of its members are interns and have links with the TMC. Mr. Amit Malviya took to X and while questioning CM Mamata Banerjee’s government, he shared the reality of some of the members of this committee. In his post, he revealed how one “Intern Nirjan Bagchi is a member of TMCP Unit of RG Kar. Another intern in this Committee, Sarif Hasan, is an active TMC member. Last, but not the least, Bulbul Mukhopadhyay, the Chairperson of this committee can be seen with TMC MLA Atin Ghosh.”

Slamming the TMC government he added, “Looking at the composition of the Inquiry Committee, it is clear that the investigation will be a complete sham, leading to miscarriage of justice.” In another post he tweeted how more than 24 hours have passed and the Bengal CM and Health Minister Mamata Banerjee hasn’t said a word on the brutal rape and murder. Continuing further he wrote, “Mamata Banerjee’s operation cover up has begun in right earnest and with such venally corrupt people at helm of the hospital. It won’t be long before the matter is hushed up.”

Meanwhile, the State Women’s Commission has taken note of this incident. Several BJP leaders and doctors are protesting to seek justice for the victim. Further probe in this incident is underway. Overall it seems ironical that a state ruled by a woman Chief Minister, woman from Sandeshkhali to Chopra continue to suffer.
