A Minor Hindu Girl Dressed as Radha for Janmashtami Raped by 3 Jihadis While Heading to a Temple in Muzaffarnagar
On the night of 4 September 2026, as Hindus across the country celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami, a 14-year-old Hindu girl in Muzaffarnagar was targeted in a horrific crime.
The minor had left her home dressed as Radha to visit a local temple. On the way, three Muslim youths from the same village — Sameer, Waleen and Salman — intercepted her. They forcibly abducted her and took her to Sameer’s house. There, Sameer raped her while the other two assisted in the abduction.
When the girl did not return home, her family launched a search and found her in a distressed condition at Sameer’s residence. She narrated the entire incident to her family. A police complaint was immediately lodged at Chhapar police station.
Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. Sameer, the main accused, was arrested soon after. Waleen and Salman fled but were later tracked to the forests of Reta Nangla. In an encounter on 6 September, both were injured and arrested. Two country-made pistols were recovered from them.
All three accused are now in custody. The incident triggered local tension in the village.
