The protest at RG Kar Medical College Hospital have been about one thing: justice for Abhaya. But somehow yesterday, TMC’s supporter Swastika Mukherjee and a few others decided this was their moment to belt out Azaadi slogans. And not just any Azaadi slogans. The usual “Azaadi from Manuwad,” “Azaadi from Brahmanwad,” “Azaadi to be Gay,” “Azaadi to be Lesbian,” and more!
These chants that echoed through the air had nothing to do with “Reclaim the Night” needed by doctors in West Bengal. In fact, these Leftist slogans are reminiscent of rallies that seemed more suited for a CPI(M) revival campaign than a protest for justice. Why were these slogans being shouted? There were no “Manuwadis” or “Brahmins” preventing Abhaya from getting justice. Or have these demands by doctors been hijacked into an ideological battle to keep the Left relevant in West Bengal? Or has TMC decided to use its stooges to control the narrative of these protests?
Swastika Mukherjee Participates at RG Kar Protests: Confused or Calculated?
Swastika Mukherjee a Bengali actress started Azaadi Slogans in RGKar protest.
She will not say Azaadi from Pishi's tyranny.
Because she is her devotee.🤡

When Swastika Mukherjee and others took the protest stage, the glamour of the silver screen walked the roads with the common man! As a staunch TMC supporter Swastika Mukherjee’s presence seemed to indicate a disillusionment with the government! Or so it seemed at the beginning. However, soon her voice was raised in chants that had less to do with Abhaya’s rape-and-murder and more about political theater. Hence, netizens wonder at how neatly the protest turned into a Leftist battleground.
Even TMC’s blue-eyed girl Rituparna Sengupta tried to join the crowds. However, her behavior and statements regarding RG Kar rape and murder are known to all. Thus, her presences was violently objected to, and the actress went home to cry to the media about “possible harm” to her at the hands of protestors!
What do “Azaadi” slogans have to do with justice for Abhaya?
Why were Shaheen Bagh-like slogans raised to Reclaim the Night?
Has ‘Justice for Abhaya’ been hijacked to make way for Leftist jargon or TMC supporters?
On Wednesday, Rituparna Sengupta, who who tried to express her solidarity with the protestors seeking justice in the RG Kar incident, was heckled and manhandled. Expressing her shock at the way the justice movement may have been hijacked, this is what Rituparna shared with us.. pic.twitter.com/dYn0qs2d8b

Swastika Mukherjee, Rituparna Sengupta, and their co-protesters seem more interested in shouting catchy political slogans. However, these women stayed quiet when the shout for justice was at its loudest in the nation. Hence, their participation using Leftist sloganeering is less about the crime against Abhaya. Instead it becomes more about theatrics! What started as a legitimate demand for justice in West Bengal is slowly being hijacked in broad daylight! The Azadi Brigade slogan at RG Kar sound like they belong more to a JNU seminar than a citizen protest! Is the Left influencing the protest or TMC polluting the quest for justice?!
Is the Left or TMC Using RG Kar to Gain Political Ground?

It seems the communists have arrived to derail these protests.

Bengal’s political landscape has shifted dramatically since the Left’s downfall. Thereby, leaving the CPI(M) to grasp at straws to regain some form of relevance. And what better way than to piggyback on a movement that has gripped public attention nationwide? One can practically hear the wheels turning:
“Let’s take this opportunity to wrest West Bengal back into our hands! Let our Azaadi slogans remind people of the glorious, ideological battles of yore.”
But here’s the question: Does this tactic actually help the protest or merely muddy the waters of justice? Is this a genuine effort to support doctors demanding justice and safety at work? Are these actresses a glamourous Trojan horse for CPI(M) or TMC to regain lost ground? Let Bharat never forget that the doctors in West Bengal are demanding justice for Abhaya and safety in their workspace! The RG Kar protests were never focused on calls for ‘Azaadi from Oppression’ as an LGBTQIA supporter or against the Caste System!
Whose Protest Is It Anyway?

At the heart of the issue is the confusion between the real concerns of the protest and the injected political agendas. When doctors take up a fight for justice and security, it’s a fight that concerns all of Bharat. Thus, when actresses and politicians hop on stage with unrelated ideological baggage, it distorts the cause.
Consequently, Azadi Brigade slogans by hardcore TMC supporters, like Swastika Mukherjee, pollutes the demand for justice with their agenda. Either they now work in favor of the Left or CPI(M)! Or their purpose was to derail the protest by muddling its purity with their slogans!
Therefore, the protesting doctors are left wondering if their voices will ever be heard amidst the political noise.
So, is Bharat watching a protest for justice, or is this just another episode of Bengal’s political soap opera starring Swastika Mukherjee and friends? It’s time Indians ask a fwe questions. Is the Left so desperate for relevance that they’ll latch like leeches to a doctor’s protest? Or the TMC trying to muddy the waters of justice? Let the doctors of Bharat demand safety and justice. It is their right for the service they render to the nation! Meanwhile, the Left and TMC can keep their slogans where they belong – on the political turf!!
