Bharat reels with a shocking large-scale Love Jihad case that has roots in Identity and Financial Fraud! A “peaceful” involved in a train theft was caught by Ahmedabad Railway Police. Reperts show that Mohammad Shehbaz Mushtaq Ali Khan was caught for theft on the Vande Bharat train.
However, investigations reveal that he also faces charges for using a false Hindu identity to trap and marry Hindu women. Additionally, his background related to Defence Forces may have helped him commit Financial Fraud! These revelations have left authorities and citizens stunned. Let’s explore!
Mohammed Shehbaz: A Theft That Revealed A Web Of Lies
The arrest of Mohammad Shehbaz initially appeared to be a straightforward case of theft on a Vande Bharat train. Shehbaz is a resident of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He was caught after stealing a passenger’s trolley bag. The Ahmedabad Railway police used CCTV footage and the passenger chart to arrest this “peaceful.” During this investigation, they noted that the “peaceful” had reserved his seat under the name ‘Harshit Manoj Singh Chaudhary’ from Rajasthan.
Upon further investigation, police discovered a fake Aadhaar card and a fake Army Officer ID of ‘Major Harshit Chaudhary.’
Hence, what began as an investigation into a petty theft case in Gujarat soon unraveled into something much more sinister. A report states that Mohammed Shehbaz did serve in the Army. Howeve, interrogations revealed that Shehbaz had been expelled from the Indian Army in June 2024 as ‘unfit’ for service. Some reports claim that he hails from a family deeply associated with the Defense Forces. Allegedly, his brother is an Officer in the Indian Air Force. Moroever, his father reportedly served in the Indian Army dutifully. Therefore, the experience gained in the Army and his background of Defence Forces gave him an edge in executing an elaborate series of cons.
“Peaceful” Love Jihad Plot Exposed
The story of theft and fake idenity took a chilling Love Jihad turn when Ahmedabad Police began digging deeper into Shehbaz’s background. They uncovered that Shehbaz had used his fake Hindu identity to entrap a Hindu woman from Jharkhand in a case of Love Jihad. He had met the woman on Shaadi.com, where he posed as a fake Hindu Army Officer ‘Harshit Chowdhury’!
After winning her trust, reports state, “peaceful” Shehbaz married her under Hindu rituals in a temple on March 5th, 2023.
However, soon after the marriage, the woman noticed alarming changes in his behavior. He frequently left her alone in a rented flat in UP, claiming that the Army did grant him leave. The victim claims that forcefully consumated their marriage under the threat of violence if she resisted. This innocent victim felt shocked and betrayed by the man she had loved and married. Later she discovered that her ‘Hindu’ husband was actually a “peaceful” Mohammad Shehbaz. Moroever, she found out that he was a married man with two children.
Finally, faced with the reality of her marriage as Love Jihad, the woman lodged a formal complaint against Mohammed Shehbaz at the Banna Devi police station in Aligarh, UP on 8th September 2023. Consequently, the investigators of the case realized that this wasn’t an isolated case of fake identity and Love Jihad. Reports state that Shehbaz had deceived at least 24 women from different parts of India by using fake Hindu identities on social media and matrimonial sites.

The deception of “peaceful” Shehbaz didn’t end with Love Jihad marriages using a Hindu name. As the investigation deepened, the police found that “peaceful” Shehbaz used his false identities to open bank accounts. Large financial transactions were made through these accounts. Thereby, leading the police to believe that he was involved in looting his victims financially as well. The police have since seized these accounts. IT officials have been informed to assist in the ongoing investigation.
Shehbaz’s knowledge of Army protocols and etiquette helped him appear genuine to the women and bank officials he deceived. His modus operandi was to create fake Aadhaar and PAN cards to use together with his Army officer persona. These tools gave him an aura of false authenticity and trustworthiness that lured his victims into his trap.
This case of Theft, Fraud, and Love Jihad serves as a grim reminder of the extent to which “peaceful” criminals can go to, in Bharat. Education, employment, or even a good family background are not a guarantee of honesty or decency from criminal-minded individuals. As investigations continue, the scale of “peaceful” Shehbaz’s fraud and deception is likely to widen. Unfortunately, Bharat can only watch as his trail of Love Jihad victims and Fake IDs grows longer.
