Karthigai Deepam of Madurai – a lamp lit for millennia – now lights the deep-set anti-Hindu bias in Bharat’s opposition. A lone lamp on a hill in Madurai has done what decades of analysis failed to achieve – it exposed the INDI-Alliance, the DMK-led HRCE system, and how Eradicate Sanatan Dharma is more than just a slogan.
INDIA Alliance Launches Impeachment Against Judge For Upholding Karthigai Deepam Tradition
Justice G.R. Swaminathan’s order allowing the Karthigai Deepam to be lit at the ancient Thirupparankundram hill is a routine affirmation of religious freedom. Instead, it triggered a political earthquake. The DMK-led government ignored the order, blocked arrangements, withheld permissions, and deployed police cordons.
HRCE under DMK effectively sabotaged a ritual that predates their politics by centuries, if not millennia.
When devotees moved a contempt plea, the judge stood firm, authorised CISF protection, and upheld the right of Hindus to continue their ancestral practice. That was enough for the INDI Alliance MPs to mobilise signatures for an impeachment notice. INDI Alliance does not want Justice G.R. Swaminathan’s impeachment for corruption or misconduct, but for daring to enforce the law in favor of Hindus.

INDI-Alliance backs DMK, in a brazen attempt to punish a judge for doing what a court must do – safeguard constitutional rights even against a hostile state.
HRCE’s Capture of Temples: When the Custodian Becomes the Obstructor
The Karthigai Deepam episode in Madurai unmasked Tamil Nadu’s HRCE machinery. The board behaved not as a guardian of Hindu temples and rituals. Instead, it worked as a political arm of the ruling party. Instead of protecting Hindu rights to a ritual, it argued against its Hindu devotees, citing “minority sensitivities.” Despite legal permission, HRCE insisted the lamp be moved away from the traditional Deepathoon.
Even when the court clarified Agama rules and historical practice, the HRCE stonewalled until the last moment.
What followed was the ultimate exposure of HRCE and DMK anti-Hindu policies. The police stopped devotees at the foothills despite a judicial order and CISF protection. A state-run temple administration refused to follow court directions. They have approached the Supreme Court to stop the ritual. This contempt of court order by HRCE is not incompetence; it is ideological capture.
The HRCE’s conduct on Karthigai Deepam of Madurai shows that as long as temples remain under political control, Hindu rights will remain negotiable and politicians will decide how tradition should survive.
Why the INDI Alliance Bays For Impeachment!
The impeachment push for a pro-Hindu judge is not an isolated tantrum. It fits perfectly within the INDI Alliance’s ecosystem, where anti-Hindu rhetoric and identity politics are stitched into every reaction. The Thiruparankundram hill finally defeated the “peaceful” attempts to name the Hindu hill as “Sikandar Parankundram” to honor a “peaceful” Sikandar Dargah. Recently, Hindus fought another case to stop animal sacrifice on the hill.
HRCE under DMK loves to rename sacred Hindu zones and dilute ancient Hindu practices in the name of “harmony.”
Each time the courts sided with fact and history, the political class seethed quietly. This time, Justice Swaminathan’s refusal to bend became their line of attack.
The same parties that thunder about judicial independence suddenly decided that a judge defending Hindu worship must be removed. Their message to the judiciary is unmistakable: rule for minorities, we applaud you; rule for Hindus, we impeach you. Ironically, these are the very groups that scream about “fascism” and “freedom under threat.”
In reality, the threat to “freedoms” originates from their own signatures on an impeachment notice meant to intimidate anyone who won’t bow to their vote-bank script.
The Lamp That Lit Up Their Agenda – And the Battle Ahead
A ritual flame meant to honour Lord Murugan became a torch exposing the INDI-Alliance’s deep hostility to Hindu rights, their misuse of HRCE control, and their willingness to weaponise Parliament against the Judiciary. The controversy proved that appeasement, not secularism, is the core of their governance philosophy. For the anti-Hindu INDI Alliance to feel victorious, Hindu festivals must shrink, Hindu traditions must be “sickularized”, and Hindu judges must fall in line.
What happened on Thirupparankundram is no longer a local dispute; it is a national wake-up call.
A court order, a centuries-old tradition, and devotees’ faith were all crushed for political convenience in Tamil Nadu. Bharat must now ask harder questions: if Hindu rights can be extinguished on a hill in Madurai, what stops the same forces from extinguishing them anywhere else?
The flame at Thirupparankundram still burns, and so does the fight for the atman of Bharat.
