Farmers Protest 3.0 is set to begin for this financial year. The “annadata” seem to have acquired a flair for annual theatrics at the gates of Delhi. What once could be presented to the world as a “genuine” struggle is now an open joke.
Curtains rise once more to this seasonal melodrama this winter as tractors roll into Delhi. The highways turn into parking lots and demands escalate from reasonable to downright laughable. Genuine grievances or another episode of political grandstanding? Let’s find out.
Farmers Protest 3.0: A Political Showdown?
देश में ना हिंदू में खतरे में है, ना मंदिर खतरे में है असल में किसान खतरे में है। #FarmersProtestpic.twitter.com/zwC0WZv92s

Farmers in India used to represent resilience and hard work. More than 70% of rural Bharat is in some way associated with farming. However, their name and image are being hijacked. Groups like the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) and Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) have taken over their good name this year to orchestrate Farmers Protest.
These “farmers” unions, while claiming to speak for farmers, appear more focused on leveraging chaos than finding solutions.

The yearly protest timing is suspiciously convenient – right after sowing season. Coincidence? Hardly. They demand exaggerated compensations and plead for immunity from loan repayments. Thus, their ask-list increasingly resembles a year-end clearance sale: unrealistic and over-the-top. These theatrics overshadow the real struggles of genuine farmers. Worse, they tarnish their dignity. Are these unions protecting farmers or exploiting them for political brownie points?
Delhi Gets Ready For Traffic Jams And Taxpayer Woes!
The protestors may shout for their rights in Farmers Protest 3.0. However, the silent sufferers are Delhiites and travelers. The Delhi NCR has become a battleground where these protest wars are fought every year. Over 5000 police personnel, drones, and endless barricades choke the city. Noida Police, almost like event managers, issue detailed traffic advisories that barely ease the chaos.
The Common Commuters pay the price, not just in time but also in money.

Who pays for the petrol and diesel wasted on the fast lanes? Who reimburses businesses for delays? Moreover, who compensates taxpayers for the resources spent on managing this annual drama? Certainly not the protestors lounging in makeshift tents.

The Farmers Protest 3.0 has a big list for PM Modi, their Screst Santa! This year’s wish list of demands reads for a perfect utopian fantasy:
- 10% Developed Plots for Acquired Land – Because existing compensation isn’t enough; they want prime real estate too.
- Legal Guarantee for MSP – Sure, let’s cripple market flexibility while we’re at it.
- Pension for Farmers – Sounds good until you ask, “Who’s footing the bill?”
- Compensation for Protest Deaths – Tragic, but turning them into bargaining chips? Tasteless.
It’s worth noting that Indian agriculture already enjoys significant subsidies. No taxes, loan waivers, and government schemes. Still, these demands stretch beyond reason.
Annual Protests – Nation Held Hostage
The Supreme Court has repeatedly called for protests that don’t block roads. Yet, every year, highways turn into negotiation tables. Why? Because it worked twice before and they expect it to work again.
Disruption is their trump card, holding the nation hostage until demands are met – or, at least, until headlines are made.
India cannot afford this. Farmers deserve respect, but not at the cost of national inconvenience. It’s time to differentiate genuine struggles from union-driven theatrics. Farmers need solutions, not staged spectacles. The road ahead is simple: accountability for disruptors and real support for those who toil in the fields. Until then, we brace for Farmers Protest 3.0 once more this year as ‘Annual Carol Singers’ chanting – ‘Hamari Mange Poori Karo’!!!
