In the heart of Shamsherganj, Murshidabad, a Hindu teacher’s life was upended on that fateful night of “peaceful” lawlessness. His home and tuition center were attacked and burnt down by a “peaceful” mob. The devastation was complete: bent aluminum utensils, a destroyed gas stove, soot-covered walls, and charred books rendered unreadable.
The most harrowing aspect? Among the 100 or so attackers, he recognized some of his own students – the very same young minds he had nurtured with lessons of humanity and unity.
Murshidabad – Teacher Faces Betrayal by Students
A recent news report by Zee Bangla tells the sad story of a Hindu teacher. This man had always treated his students as family, regardless of their religion. However, on the night of the Muslim riots, he was forced to flee with his loved ones to save their lives. And some of the very students he had guided turned against him – joining a mob of 100-150 armed Islamists bent on unleashing unholy horrors.
This act of betrayal highlights a disturbing trend – where Muslim radicals place faith above education and the sanctity of the teacher-student relationship.
The Hindu teacher and his family return to a world burnt down by hate against their religion. The man is devastated by the loss of his home and teaching material. But he seems to have lost more than just books. The Muslims who chose hatred and violence in the name of Waqf Protests ensured that this teacher and others like him lost their faith in human nature. The students with whom he often shared his plate of food along with his knowledge, chose to attack him just because he was Hindu.
That night in Murshidabad the hopes and beliefs of millions of Hindus were shattered as the homes of Hindus burnt.
The Hindu teacher learned a bitter lesson – for Muslims – Ummah is above everyone, even the Guru!
Murshidabad Hindu Teachers’ – Mirrors Bangladesh Of 2024
This incident in Murshidabad mirrors the distressing events in Bangladesh, where Hindu teachers have faced similar persecution. Reports and viral videos show that since August 2024, at least 49 minority Hindu teachers were forced to resign under pressure from Islamist groups. Notably, some Hindu teachers were beaten into submission just because of their faith.
At Azimpur Government College, despite being recognized as the best Chemistry teacher, a Hindu teacher was forced into resignation by Muslim students. Another case involved a Hindu assistant professor at Holi Red Crescent Nursing College in Dhaka, who was allegedly locked in her office by students and forced to resign. Within 12 months, a similar incident occurred in Bharat – a Hindu teacher was attacked by his students.
Foor For Thought
A similar incident occurred in Shivamogga in 2023. On 1st October 2023, soon after the CONgress government came to power, the Eid procession turned violent. A teacher couple in Shivamogga, Karnataka faced the wrath of their students when the rioters reached their doorstep. The couple was heartbroken as they watched their students place Faith in human life. The very minds of this “secular” teacher couple taught in schools, harbored hate for them because they were Hindus.
From Bangladesh to Bengal to karnataka – Hindu hatred is the theme of Muslim violence.
In the name of Waqf protests, Islamists use youngsters to loot and harm Hindus. These incidents underscore a growing radicalism that threatens the fabric of society. On one hand, Sanatanis teach their kids that Guru is equal to God, even above parents. On the other hand, Islamist students fail to rise above their faith to safeguard those who guided their education.
When educators, the torchbearers of knowledge and values, become targets, it signals a deeper malaise in the community.
Hindus must recognize the reality of a secular mindset. To Islamists, Hindus are to be used and then abused at the first chance. These incidents show that for them protests are an excuse to wage war against the “Kafir” Hindu. No amount of tolerance or education will be able to counter this mindset until the root cause and sources of radicalism are not addressed!
