Must Read

It’s game over for fraudulent coaching institutes, in the name of ensuring students’ selection, coaching institutes are playing with students’ future

UPSC CSE or Civil Services Examination is rightly regarded as the toughest examination in Bharat and for a multitude of reasons.

The exam is not only prestigious but tests the limits of one’s patience, integrity, hard and smart work and labour.

It is one such exam where the success rate is abysmally low, at just 0.9%.

This means only 900-1000 make it to the final list out of 1 million candidates.

Having said that it is important to note that the life of a civil service aspirant is precious.

But for years now, coaching institutes for Civil Services examination have been playing with the future of the aspirants.

But no more, the central government has launched a punitive crackdown on coaching institutes that make a mockery of aspirants’ future.

Nature Of The Crackdown

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has launched investigation against 20 reputed coaching institutes.

The allegations include inflating the success rate of the institutes, misusing and withholding important information from the candidates and aspirants concerned and exaggerating the courses that a successful candidate has taken.

For example-the successful candidate may have taken only one ‘mock interview’, but the institute gives false advertisement in newspapers showing that the aspirant has taken coaching for prelims, mains and the interview sessions.

Besides that the coaching institutes engage in unfair trade practices.

Coaching Institutes Under The Scanner

Some of the institutes which are currently under the scanner of investigative agencies include Vajirao & Reddy Institute, Chahal Academy, Khan Study Group IAS, APTI Plus, Analog IAS, Shankar IAS, Sriram’s IAS, BYJU’s IAS, Unacademy, NEXT IAS, Drishti IAS, IQRA IAS, Vision IAS, IAS Baba, Yojana IAS, Plutus IAS, ALS IAS, Rau’s IAS Study Circle.

Out of these, Rs 1 lakh fine has been imposed on IAS Baba, IQRA IAS, Rau’s Study Circle & Chahal Academy.

No More Defrauding

Truly It’s game over for fraudulent coaching institutes. They can no longer fiddle with the lives of students by charging exorbitant fees and making false claims.

Fraudulent activities will no longer be tolerated in an examination as critical as UPSC CSE.
