Mohammed Zahid Arrested for Molesting Hindu Minor and Forcing Conversion in Uttar Pradesh
In a disturbing case from Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed Zahid, a mathematics teacher, was arrested for molesting a ninth-grade Hindu student. Zahid repeatedly harassed the minor, pressuring her to marry him and convert to Islam.
Despite the victim’s complaints, the school administration ignored the issue until police action was forced through public protests.
Harassment Escalates After School Inaction
Zahid’s predatory behavior came to light when the victim confided in her family. He had expressed his so-called ‘love’ and coerced her to accept his marriage proposal. When the girl refused, Zahid molested her, offered her Rs 1 lakh, and threatened to fail her in exams if she didn’t comply.
The family approached the school principal to address the matter, but no action was taken. Zahid continued his harassment, emboldened by the administration’s silence. Eventually, the victim’s family involved the police and organized protests at the school, demanding justice. Zahid was apprehended while attempting to flee and has been booked under the POCSO Act and other legal provisions.
Systemic Neglect and Bias Against Hindus
The incident exposes a larger issue of systemic neglect faced by Hindu students. The principal’s refusal to act highlights an alarming bias. Many argue that if the victim had been a Muslim girl, the administration would have responded swiftly, and the matter would have drawn national attention. Instead, Hindu families often face resistance and must resort to protests to ensure action.
This bias raises questions about the safety and dignity of Hindu girls in the current educational system. The reluctance to protect them demonstrates a failure of institutions to uphold their responsibilities, further marginalizing Hindu voices.
Reviving Gurukulas: A Need of the Hour
This case underscores the urgent need for Hindus to reclaim their education system by reviving Gurukulas. Historically, these centers provided not just education but also safety and cultural grounding for students. Gurukulas can offer an alternative to the current system, which often ignores the concerns of Hindu families.
Such institutions can provide a secure and holistic learning environment where Hindu children can thrive. They represent a step toward preserving cultural values and ensuring the community’s children grow up protected and empowered.
Wake-up Call for Hindu
The arrest of Mohammed Zahid should be a wake-up call for systemic reforms. School administrations must be held accountable for ignoring complaints and failing to act. Moreover, there is a pressing need to create educational spaces that prioritize the safety of Hindu students and uphold justice.
Hindu families must come together to demand change, reclaim control of their children’s education, and ensure that future generations are raised in environments free from bias and threats. Protecting Hindu children is not just a necessity—it is a responsibility that cannot be ignored.
