The bombing took place on Chahar Qala Road, near the intersection with Sanatorium Road, where a gate is visible, blocking access. This gated road leads to the Afghan-Japan Hospital. The explosion occurred directly in front of the gate, with visual evidence confirming at least five deceased bodies, including the remains of the bomber.

Reportedly the bomber’s body was scattered across the area, with only his shoulder and head intact, suggesting he was a young man in his early 20s with a trimmed beard. The location of the incident is close to the Darul Aman Palace and the former Afghan Parliament building.

All the injured, civilians, were swiftly taken to hospitals for treatment. As authorities continue their investigation, no group has yet claimed responsibility. However, suspicion quickly fell on the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), a known rival of the Taliban. ISKP has been responsible for a series of terror attacks throughout Afghanistan, targeting public spaces in the Past. Islamic State has also been targeting shite areas in the past.

Reportedly two prosecutors, are among the victims of Thursday’s bombing in Kabul. Taliban has reported that six people were killed in the suicide attack, but other sources suggest the death toll may be higher.

The bombing underscored the ongoing security challenges in Afghanistan, even under Taliban rule.

Sharia Law and the Illusion of Peace In Kabul

When the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021, they promised stability and security. They vowed to impose Sharia law, the foundation of Islamic governance, which many Islamic terror groups use to justify their actions. Yet, as seen in this attack, violence persists.

Different factions like ISKP continue their campaigns of terror, despite the Taliban’s strict adherence to Islamic principles. Sharia law’s implementation has done little to quell the violence. These groups, although all identifying as Islamic, follow different sects or schools of thought. Each aims to impose its own version of Islam, often violently.

The Taliban’s claims of having quashed ISKP and other terrorist threats seem increasingly hollow. Despite rigorous security measures and assurances, Kabul and other parts of Afghanistan remain prone to deadly attacks.

These incidents not only cast doubt on the Taliban’s ability to govern but also expose the deep-rooted divisions within the Islamic world. The varying interpretations of Islam among groups like the Taliban, ISKP, and others only add to the cycle of violence and unrest. This internal strife raises questions about the feasibility of achieving peace in a country marked by ideological conflicts.

Endless Violence: The Legacy of Sectarianism In Kabul

The persistence of attacks even under Taliban rule highlights a grim reality: the ideological and sectarian divisions within Islam continue to fuel conflict. Sharia law, while a unifying call for many extremist groups, does not guarantee unity.

These factions compete for dominance, viewing each other as obstacles to their vision of an Islamic state. Thus, peace remains a distant dream in a landscape dominated by radical interpretations of Islam.

The Taliban’s rule is just one chapter in Afghanistan’s long history of conflict. As various factions vie for power, they remain willing to shed innocent blood to achieve their ends.

A Wake-Up Call for Afghanistan and the World

The tragic events in Kabul serve as a grim reminder of Afghanistan’s unstable future. As long as radical ideologies dominate and different factions vie for power, peace will remain a distant dream.

The Islamic terror groups, driven by a desire for global dominance, will never cease their quest. Their belief in achieving supremacy through violence ensures that terror attacks will persist.

Innocent lives will continue to be lost, and Afghanistan’s journey toward peace remains illusive and fraught with bloodshed and despair. This incident highlights a painful truth: the cycle of violence will not end until the extremist ideologies that fuel it are eradicated.

As long as extremist ideologies dominate, there can be no lasting peace. The world must recognize this harsh reality.
