PM Narendra Modi and his leadership has transformed India drastically. Recently, he inaugurated the railway line between Baramulla in North Kashmir and Udhampur in Jammu.
In the last 10 years he has not only brought significant socio-economics changes in our country but has also been transforming the face of India with big infrastructural projects.
Here are some of the key infrastructural projects and architectural marvels-
Sudarshan Setu-
Recently, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the “Samudra Setu.” It is India’s longest cable bridge spanning approximately 2.34 Km and an architectural marvel. The bridge can produce one megawatt of electricity thanks to solar panels mounted on the upper portion of the footpath. It is also of great significance for the pilgrims who had to rely on boats to reach Dwarkadhish temple.
Atal Tunnel-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated an all weather Atal tunnel in October 2020. Built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas it connects Manali with Lahual. It is recognised as the world’s longest tunnel above 10,000 feet.
It reduces the distance between Manali and Leh by 46 Kms and travel time by about 4-5 hours.
Chenab Bridge-
PM Modi recently inaugurated the Chenab Bridge. It connects Bakkal and Kauri and serves as an essential route between Katra and Banihal. It is a component of the Rs 35,000 crore Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project, which aims to improve connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The bridge is a testament to India’s engineering prowess, it is 1,315-metre long and 1,178 feet above the riverbed. It is higher than the Eiffel Tower.
Atal Setu-
It is India’s longest Sea bridge and ranks 12th longest in the world. It is a 6-lane bridge with about 16.5 km of length over sea and about 5.5 km of length on land. PM Narendra Modi had recently inaugurated this bridge and it is set to reduce travel time from Mumbai to Pune, Goa and South India.
Bogibeel Bridge-
It is reportedly Asia’s second longest Rail-cum-road bridge. This 4.9-kilometer bridge reduces the train travel time by more than 10 hours between Tinsukia, Assam, and Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh.
The authorities revised the project’s final cost from Rs 3,230.02 crore to Rs 5,920 crore after they first approved it.
In addition to providing improved public connectivity, the bridge meets India’s defense requirements along the India-China border.
USBRL-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail link in J&K. It is the longest transportation railway tunnel in the country. This tunnel enables trains to operate seamlessly between Banihal and Baramulla via a route which was not available earlier. It is around 12.77 Kms long and also known as T-50.
Statue of Unity-
The Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is the world’s tallest statue. It is 182-meter-tall and was erected in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the islet of Sadhu Bet close to the Sardar Sarovar Dam in the Gujarat.
It is twice the height of Statue of liberty.
Transforming Railways-
PM Modi laid the foundation stone for around 553 railway stations and under Amrit Bharat scheme. Along with this, he laid the foundation stone for about 1500 road over bridges and underpasses.
Under Amrit Bharat scheme, railway stations will be revamped to meet the needs of 21st century India. The redevelopment of the railway stations, which will have a total cost of Rs 19000 crore, will result in them acting as city centers.
They will contain facilities like roof top plazas, inter-modal connectivity and beautiful landscaping. Architects are designing them in an environmentally friendly manner that is accessible to all and draws inspiration from the local culture.
New Parliament Building-
Indians created and constructed this architectural marvel in its entirety. The structure is intended to last for more than 150 years and is built to withstand earthquakes. It reflects various Indian architectural styles and captures the culture, pride, and the spirit of the entire country. Moreover, it also addresses the long-standing demand of Indian democracy for a more spacious parliament, as the number of seats and Members of Parliament continues to rise.
It is full of state of art facilities like digitalized voting systems, well-engineered acoustics and audiovisual systems etc.
