Indian Railways In The Past Nine Years

Must Read

India has seen a great growth in the last decade and same goes for the transport department. The Indian Railways has entered a new age of mobility with the introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains. Following the Rajdhani Express trains, the Vande Bharat Express represents a significant improvement in terms of speed and convenience. Because of its rapid acceleration and deceleration, the train may reach a top speed of 160-180 kmph. Traveling on the blue and white train will save your trip time by 25% to 45%.

Vande Bharat

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared in the Union Budget 2022 that four hundred new-generation Vande Bharat Express trains will be built and produced over the next three years. Further money are likely to be granted in the 2019 budget for new Vande Bharat trains and Vande Bharat 2.0 with sleeper class.

In keeping with the Government of India’s ‘Made in India’ policy, the Railways has introduced the country’s first indigenous Semi-High Speed train, the Vande Bharat Express.

This train’s three defining characteristics are speed, safety, and service. That was a significant step in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Train 18 is another name for the Vande Bharat Express. Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is producing it over an 18-month period. The train has the potential to be a game changer in the global rail industry since it meets world-class standards while costing less than half of what other trains cost.

Vande Bharat Revamped

The Railways is considering introducing a Vande Bharat Express train with sleeping berths. This will make overnight travels more convenient. The appropriate handholds and ladders will be installed for the sleeper carriage so that people can climb on and off berths easily.

Several advanced innovations are included in the Train 18. These include intelligent brake system, Wi-Fi, automated doors, CCTV cameras, spinning seats, bio-vaccum type toilets, divyang-friendly amenities, and so on. The train also has a train collision avoidance system – KAVACH.

India has surely come a long way in the transport department and Vande Bharat is a prime example of that!
