500 Year Old Shiva Temple With Unique Footprints Discovered in Patna!

In an unexpected archeological discovery, a 500 year old Shiva Temple has been unearthed in Patna. Both the locals and the tourists are ecstatic about the discovery. The temple was unearthed following a land subsidence event on January 5. Reportedly, the temple was discovered under a heap of garbage dump in ward no 54.The location is said to be land which was once associated with a monastery.

Discovery Led By Locals..

Before the officials could arrive on scene, the locals took it upon themselves and started the initial excavation. As they started removing the debris, a hidden structure was unearthed. Once they cleaned it up, they discovered that the temple housed an ancient Shivling along with two unique footprints. Reportedly, as per locals the Padchinhas (footprints) were found in the center of the temple which has beautiful intricate carvings. They also claimed the black stone temple to be made of some unique metallic material, as water perpetually dripping from its walls. The Shiva temple is speculated to be built around 15th century. However, the exact origin of the temple is under investigation by the experts.

As soon as the discovery was made, hundreds of devotees started worshipping the Shivling in the temple. Reportedly, there was once a Hindu priest who lived near the temple site. However, following his demise his family vacated that place and as time passed the place turned into a dumping ground. As the locals were unware of the presence of a temple underneath the site.

Several netizens took to twitter and shared videos of the ancient temple. Many linked the recent development with the awakening of divinity.

Overall, even though such archeological discoveries have been made in the past in Patna. This discovery is of key significance as this is for the first time that a fully intact, temple like structure, including the Shivling has been unearthed. It further highlights the city’s timeless cultural heritage and the spiritual Sanatan roots.
