PM Modi Inaugurates Veer Savarkar College And Several Big Projects in Delhi

Prime Minister Modi on Friday inaugurated the Veer Savarkar College and several other development projects in Delhi. This comes a day after the NSUI wrote a letter to PM Modi, urging him to name the upcoming college after late former PM Manmohan Singh.

While inaugurating, PM Modi said, “Today is a landmark day for Delhi, with transformative projects in housing, infrastructure and education being launched to accelerate the city’s development.”

Urban Projects Transforming Delhi..

In line with his commitment of providing “housing for all,” PM Modi inaugurated the 1,675 newly constructed flats, for the Economically weaker sections at the Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar Delhi. This is of key significance as it will provide a brighter and a healthier future to Delhi’s underserved communities.

As per Pib, for every Rs 25 lakh spent on construction of a flat by the government. The eligible beneficiaries will have to pay less than 7% of the total amount. This comprises Rs 1.42 lakh as a nominal contribution and Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.

During the event, PM Modi handed over the keys to the beneficiaries of the newly constructed flats.

Later he inaugurated multiple development projects in Delhi including the GPRA Type-II Quarters and the World Trade Centre (WTC) Nauroji Nagar.

The WTC has replaced over 600 outdated quarters with modern state of the art commercial towers. The project will offer around 34 lakh square feet of commercial space with modern amenities. It also contains provisions such as a zero-discharge concept, solar energy generation, and rainwater harvesting systems.

The GPRA-Type II quarters at Sarojini Nagar which includes 28 towers, housing over 2500 residential units offers modern amenities. In order to promote eco-friendly living, the project’s design includes solar-powered waste compactors, sewage and water treatment plants etc.  In a tweet on X, PM Modi tweeted, “The Quarters at Sarojini Nagar will benefit our hardworking Government employees, whose relentless dedication is a great contribution to national progress.”

Revolutionizing Delhi’s Educational Landscape..

Delhi, known as the hub for education has got a big boost in its educational infrastructure. In order to strengthen the academic infrastructure, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of three new projects, totalling over Rs 600 crore in Delhi University.

He also inaugurated the CBSE Integrated Office Complex, which was built at around Rs 300 crore at Dwarka. The complex has been designed as per the platinum rating standards of IGBC. It is equipped with state-of-the-art offices, an auditorium, an advanced data center, etc.

Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh. The college will be designed to embody excellence in education with state-of-the-art facilities.

About Veer Savarkar College

The proposed college will be built at an investment of around Rs 140 crores and will span across 18,816.56 square metres. Strategically located near the planned West Campus and the Urban Extension Road (UER) highway. It aims to improve accessibility for students. Further, it will be equipped with modern amenities such as 24 classrooms, 40 faculty rooms, conference room and libraries.
