Annamalai Slams The DMK government
Earlier, while addressing the press conference, Annamalai slammed the DMK government and state police for divulging the personal details of the victim. He asked, “How did the FIR enter the public domain? You have revealed the identity of the victim by leaking the FIR. The FIR also shows the victim in poor light. The police and the DMK should be ashamed for writing such an FIR and leaking it.”
‘Will Complain to Lord Murugan..’
Annamalai took a swipe at the state law minister, S Regupathy, for the state of affairs in Tamil Nadu. He questioned, “Where did the Nirbhaya fund go? Why was there no CCTV camera on the Anna University campus?” Annamalai also wrote an official letter to the chairperson of National Commission for Women about the same. In his letter, he highlighted the willful negligence of the state police and the failure of the state government in preventing crimes against women.

He also hit out at S Regupathy for claiming that the state had been peaceful and got “disturbed” after Annamalai’s return from London. He said he’s fed up with this type of “dirty politics” in Tamil Nadu.
With respect to the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu, he said, “In the second week of Feb, I am going to visit all six Arupadai Veedu (Lord Muruga’s abodes) and complain to Murugan about the situation in TN.”
Commenting on the state of affairs and DMK’s politics in Tamil Nadu, Annamalai said that there is no other option but to remove the “evil force” (DMK). He urged the middle class to stand up and question the DMK government.
Regarding the Anna university sexual assault case, he said, they should sack the Chennai police commissioner.
While the opposition has started mocking Annamalai’s self flagellation, calling it theatrics. However, sometimes, we also need political theatrics to awaken the consciousness of the people.
