Must Read

A six-year-old girl from Goharganj in Madhya Pradesh remains in critical condition after a horrific assault that has shaken the entire state. The accused, identified as Salman Khan (alias Nazar), allegedly lured the child with chocolates while she was playing near her home, took her into a nearby forest, and assaulted her.

The child was found grievously injured, unconscious and bleeding, and was rushed to the hospital. She is now on ventilator support at AIIMS Bhopal, fighting for her life.

Accused Tries to Escape – Shot While Fleeing

The police arrested Salman soon after the crime. However, while being transported to Raisen, the police vehicle suffered a puncture near Kirat Nagar village. Taking advantage of the moment, the accused snatched a sub-inspector’s gun, fired at the police, and attempted to flee.

Police retaliated with controlled force and shot him in the leg, preventing his escape. He was taken to Jai Prakash Hospital in Bhopal for treatment and remains under heavy security.

Public Anger Erupts – And Rightly So

Protests broke out across Goharganj as hundreds of locals demanded swift, decisive justice. Their fury is neither exaggerated nor misplaced. Such crimes strike at the very soul of society. When a six-year-old becomes a target of this kind of depravity, outrage is not an option, it is a moral necessity.

Parents fear for their children. Communities feel betrayed. And India is tired of seeing predators exploit innocence with impunity.

A Systemic Problem That Needs More Than Outrage

This case exposes a deeper rot, one that cannot be fixed with emotion alone. Crimes against children have risen across states despite stricter laws, revealing a deeper pattern that cannot be brushed aside. Some offenders come from environments where regressive attitudes, insularity, and radicalised mindsets continue to thrive unchecked. That cultural ecosystem must be confronted honestly, without political correctness or hesitation, because ignoring it only produces more victims.

Education does not reform such criminals. Fear of the law must. Unless predators know that they will face the harshest lawful punishment, these crimes will not stop. Public faith in the justice system is restored only when punishment is decisive, swift, and exemplary.
