Bangladesh: CNN Tries To Blame India For Floods

Must Read

At a time when the CIA is blamed for the regime change in Bangladesh, CNN has reached there to report on floods. CNN is known for its anti-India stance says Bangladesh has the best early warning system but failed this time. It largely tries to blame India for the floods, pointing out that floods happened as Tripura released its dams.

Notably, it has done ground reporting and wrote an article on it. CNN has tried to blame India even though India has debunked the false narrative. CNN even suggested that India should apologize.

It is well known that there are anti-India forces in Bangladesh that always try to blame all the problems on India. The reach of anti-India forces is deep-rooted, as even the media is filled with people who are anti-India. One such person is a Daily Star reporter trying to spread this false rumor giving credit to CNN and legitimizing their claim.

The CNN report noted that Bangladesh has been witnessing floods and cyclones in recent years because of climate change exacerbating extreme weather events but alleged that this time the flood took them by surprise and thus they “blame officials in India”.

It then went on to allege that India didn’t warn Bangladesh about the imminent flooding.

The report added, “Dozens of people CNN met in Feni – which is only a few miles from the India border – accused New Delhi of releasing water from the Dumbur dam in neighboring Tripura state with no warning. As we waded past their homes, some people shouted, ‘We hate India’ and ‘This is Indian water’.”

The report quoted a 29-year-old IT worker, Shoriful Islam saying, “They opened the gate, but no information was given.”

Islam added, “India used a water weapon. India is taking revenge for destroying the last government.”

India Had Already Debunked The Baseless Allegations Twice

On Thursday (22nd August), the Government of India released an official letter clarifying that floods in Bangladesh have nothing to do with the opening of the Dumbur dam upstream of the Gumti River in Tripura. India rejected the allegations and described reports linking India with it as “factually incorrect”.

India highlighted that flooding also caused havoc in the Indian state of India and reiterated that floods affecting shared rivers are a common issue for both countries and should be addressed through cooperative efforts.

It happened for the 2nd time on 26th August. The Foreign Ministry said, “Data, as per protocol, is shared with the concerned Joint River Commission officials in Bangladesh on a regular and timely basis. It has been done this time as well”, thus rubbishing the fake news about Indian link with Bangladesh floods.

Even after Indian officials provided proof that allegations made by anti-India forces were untrue. The media houses funded by the Left seem uninterested in reporting factual news. Instead, they wish to ensuite hate against India and like to further their agenda.

This report by CNN shows that no amount of proof can persuade biased media outlets.

And also highlights the deep-seated hatred of Bangladeshis towards India. They do not even consider the help India has provided over the years by sacrificing its own garment Industry. All it took was one false rumor for them to believe it was a conspiracy of India.

This should make India reconsider its standing with Bangladesh as a friend, when such vehement hate is present in people against India.
