India’s Waqf Board does NOT control more land than the total area of Pakistan! Pakistan owns 8.8 lakh sq. km of land. The Waqf claims to own 9.4 lakh acres or 3805 sq. km of Bharat and controls 8.7 lakh properties in Bharat. Thus, Indian Waqf assets are not larger than Pakistan. However, with wealth, influence, and unchecked power; the Waqf Board of Bharat has become one of the largest urban landlords in India.
The might of Waqf raises serious questions about its unchecked control over Indian land. The situation is riddled with bizarre irony. While Pakistan was created to safeguard Muslim interests, Waqf assets in India are more than 3 times the size of Delhi NCR – Almost as Big as Goa! Is this a Miniature Pakistan within India?
Waqf Board: More Land Than Delhi? Seriously!
Entire IT Cell seems to have gone crazy. It’s 9.4 lakh acres, dammit. 1 sq km equals 247 acres. so Waqf land is 3805 sq km, approx 3 times the area of Delhi, which is 1483 sq km. https://t.co/39fLEQIKCK

The numbers don’t lie. India’s Waqf Board controls approximately 9.4 lakh square acres of land. India’s total landmass is 3.287 million sq. km! Pakistan, created by the British to reward their Muslim Khadims, occupies 881,913 sq. km of land. Therefore, East and West Pakistan claimed 23% of undivided India’s land in 1947.
In 2024, the Waqf Board claimed 9.4 lakh sq. acres or 3805 sq. km of land. Its property grew nine times its original value of 1 lakh sq. acre in 1947!
Delhi’s area is 1,483 sq. km and Goa’s total land asset is 3,702 sq. km!
Thus, Waqf Board owns Goa-equivalent land in Bharat!
In 1945, 87.5% of Muslims chose the Muslim League as their representative to form a separate nation. However, not all of them went to Pakistan to claim this land! Fast forward to 2024, today Muslims in India equate the Muslim population in Pakistan. Additionally, Indian Muslims control vast land holdings across India under the Waqf Board’s rule. While most of the Muslims fled to carve out Pakistan in 1947, the Indian Muslims who stayed back now own land greater than any Union Territory of Bharat! Oh, the irony!
Historic Monuments? Occupied!
The Waqf Board doesn’t stop at just land for Kabristan and Mazars! Its evil eye rests on history too! Of the 120 protected monuments under the Archaeological Survey of India have been claimed by various state Waqf Boards. These disputed properties include historical treasures like the Red Fort’s Jama Masjid in Delhi and Moti Masjid in Agra. These properties were gifted by UPA to the Waqf before BJP came to power in 2014!
The Waqf claim was revoked on the 123 properties that the Manmohan Singh administration gifted in September 2023.
However, a counter-claim against the revocation is in place!
Even today AIMIM leader MP Owaisi claimed that ASI occupies many Waqf properties illegally! While the rest of India follows laws, the Waqf Board can practically acquire land with flimsy, unverified documents. They claim 1500 years of temple and 95% Hindu villages! They’ve already targeted historical sites and other valuable properties. If left unchecked, Indian laws could one day be rendered meaningless in a vast portion of this “Waqfistan.”

Waqf Board – A Billionaire Landlord!
Only 200-300 people are managing 9 lakh 60000 acres of Waqf land 🤯#WaqfAmendmentBill_2024 #WaqfBoardbill pic.twitter.com/MWxwOybElD

Money talks – and the Waqf Board has a lot of it. Analysts suspect that Waqf Board’s monthly income might reach Rs. 20,000 crore annually. In Assam alone, the state Waqf Board had over Rs. 2 crore sitting comfortably in its bank account in 2022. The Kerala State Waqf Board responded to an RTI by stating its yearly income for 2022-2023 was more than Rs. 14 crores!
There are 32 contributing Waqf bodies across India, each amassing huge sums of wealth.
If true, then the combined wealth of these boards makes the Waqf Council a very rich and unregulated landowner in Bharat! Imagine – a religious body within India that does not follow the law of the land!
Stop The Appeasement!
The UPA government’s 2013 Waqf Act gave the Board an overnight asset boost, multiplying its holdings. At Independence, the Waqf controlled only Rs. 1 lakh worth of assets. Today, they’re the third largest landholders, thanks to the Waqf Act of the UPA era that expanded their powers. After UPA’s 2013 Amendment, the Waqf can take over land without fighting a legal case. They have even taken over entire villages, with zero accountability. The 2024 Waqf Board Amendment seeks to defang this unchecked power. If not, Bharat risks having an autonomous and belligerent land owner who has easy access to money, to whom Indian laws don’t apply completely.
Forget secularism; the rise of ‘Waqfistan’ is a direct challenge to India’s very sovereignty and soul.
India’s Waqf Board is not just a religious entity anymore. It’s a parallel power structure that holds sway over land and money. It runs its own claim depatement with an independent Tribunal for Waqf Claim Disputes. And many suspect it of protecting anti-national sentiments within the walls of its many homes! If allowed to continue on its path, it could end up running its own nation – right in the heart of Bharat!
