In a viral video, Congress Leader and National Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala showed deep disrespect for Hema Malini in particular, actresses at large, and women in general. He said:
“MLA-MP क्यों बनाते है? ताकि वो हमारी आवाज़ उठा सके| हमारी बात मनवाये इसिलए बनाते होंगे …कोई हेमा मालिनी तो है नहीं जो चाटने के लिए बनाते है!”
The comment shows how he views women, specifically beautiful ones, as a sex object. The comment is drawing extreme backlash from BJP supporters and leaders. Instead of apologizing, the Congress IT cell is busy trying to whitewash the incident. They are claiming that BJP loyalists are clipping the video of the speech and making a big deal out of nothing. Please note, MP Surjewala immediately after his extremely sexist remarks states that he respects Hema Malini a lot as she is “धर्मेंदर की बिया रखी बहु“!
If one is allowed to decode this face-saving remark, it will reveal hideous depths of misogyny! Congress MP Surjewala does not respect Hema Malini’s 20 years as a politician. He does not even respect her as the ‘Dream Girl’ of millions and a successful actress. Neither is he impressed by her fame as a classical dancer.
The only thing that makes Hema Malini respect-worthy in the eyes of the CON party MP is her status as the wife of a successful actor – Dharmendra!

The BJP has strongly criticized the Congress for its hateful words. The loyalists and the spokespersons have come out in full strength to the deeply insulting speech. Hema Malini herself has taken this attack on the chin with bravado. She states that the opposition will always say mean and hurtful words about her. She shrugged the insult off with dignity and grace.
The actress is ready to rise to the occasion by continuing to contest this election with a clear heart and strong convictions from her seat in Mathura. The actress and politician expressed her gratitude to all who stood for her and are still fighting for her honor against such vile comments. She also expressed her ‘aabhar’ to PM Modi and CM Yogi for supporting her in her time of need.

Politics is not a game for the faint-hearted! As a seasoned politician, words should not hurt your resolve or shake your foundation. Hema Malini choosing to ignore the CON party’s mocking of Nari Shakti shows her deep faith in her own mettle! She prefers to focus on the upcoming elections and the love she has received from her constituency rather than the daily spectacles on parade by the CON party.
However, Bharat Ki Nari must focus on what is being said during these speeches. Such words show the inner values and ethics of those who are supported by the CON party DONs! They used debased words for Aishwarya Rai, used obscene gestures for Smriti Irani, asked the going price for Kangana, and insulted Hema Malini. These self-made women probably scare the backward-thinking ‘patriarchy ki upaj’ fielded by the ‘Parivaar.’ No matter how much noise they make on Manipur, their stance was just political grandstanding! Despite their support for the wrestlers’ protest, their words and actions suppress the rising Nari Shakti in Bharat.
