Congress’ Independence Celebration: Maligning Veer Savarkar And Netaji

Must Read

Congress workers celebrated the 78th Independence Day by insulting Veer Savarkar and Netaji! Gujarat gave Congress a single seat in the Lok Sabha elections. Thus, the shockwaves of this victory can be seen more than 200 kilometers away in Surendranagar.

The victory-emboldened INC workers disrupted a children’s Tiranga Yatra in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district.

Their objection was to students wearing saffron-colored T-shirts bearing the images of Veer Savarkar and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Therefore, these actions betray the long-standing bias INC has against Veer Savarkar. Additionally, it highlights the intolerance the Congress workers have for Netaji. Let’s talk!

Tiranga Yatra Disruped: Dishonor to Veer Savarkar and Netaji Bose

In Sangani village, students were proudly participating in a Tiranga Yatra to honor India’s Independence. However, the Congress workers intervened with harsh objections. Their objections were centered on the students’ saffron T-shirts, which displayed Veer Savarkar and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

These are two of India’s most courageous freedom fighters, historically maligned and sidelined by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.

Thus, Congress leaders alleged that the T-shirts promoted an “RSS leader.” Thereby, displaying their views about any Non-Nehru leader. Then, they presented that Veer Savarkar was suspected of involvement in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. However, these claims, which were repeatedly debunked by the courts, were used as political ammunition to tarnish the legacy of a national hero.

In a viral video, Congress leaders can be seen demanding that the students remove their T-shirts. They harassed school staff, falsely claiming that the T-shirts disrespected Gandhi and Sardar Patel. As if honoring any other leader from the freedom struggle was ‘paap’?

Unfortunately, the truth was plain for anyone to know. The students were wearing shirts with two significant freedom fighters and paid no disrespect to any other leader. It was a way to celebrate the sidelined heroes of Bharat. Unfortunately, the Congress attempted to politicize this display of patriotism. Thereby, revealing Congress’s troubling mindset regarding India’s history and its heroes!

The local Congress unit’s disruption of the Tiranga Yatra points to a broader pattern. There is a proven history and tendency of the modern Congress is to disrespect India’s freedom fighters. Instead of fostering unity on such a significant occasion, Congress workers always seek to spread division. Their comments malign the sacrifice of Veer Savarkar. Their calls to replace the shirts with those featuring Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel do not honor these two towers of the strength of the freedom struggle.

Instead, they highlight Congress’ deep-rooted agenda to erase figures who don’t align with their political narrative.

National Congress Sevadal President Lalji Desai’s inflammatory remarks further demonstrate the party’s growing disconnect from national pride. He equated T-shirts featuring Veer Savarkar with potentially endorsing figures like Nathuram Godse or Dawood Ibrahim. Such absurd comparisons only serve to vilify a freedom fighter who endured torture for India’s liberation. The Congress’s willingness to stir up such divisive rhetoric in the lead-up to Independence Day raises serious questions about their respect for the nation’s history.

Insult to National Icons Gets Congress Workers Booked

Following the incident, MoS Home Affairs Harsh Sanghvi condemned the Congress leaders involved. The Gujarat government took swift action, booking them for insulting freedom fighters Veer Savarkar and Netaji Bose. Minister Sanghvi made it clear that Congress had no right to question the patriotism of anyone. And they should not question the legacy of great figures who had made immense sacrifices for the nation’s freedom.

While Congress leaders lamented that Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel were being forgotten, their own actions proved hypocritical.

They themselves wore T-shirts promoting their “Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra” with no images of Mahatma Gandhi or Sardar Patel. Their actions and comments show a disregard for the very heroes they claim to honor. Thereby, showing a clear priority for political agendas over the celebration of national unity and freedom.

Consequently, the Sangani Tiranga Yatra incident exposes the Congress’s tendency to politicize and malign national icons. Their attacks on Veer Savarkar are savage and biased. And their historically known sidelining of Netaji Bose is obvious.

However, their choice of creating controversy in the name of Mahatma Gandhi or Sardar Patel is hideous. It dishonors the sacrifices made by all people for India’s Independence. As the nation prepares to mark its 78th Independence Day, the Congress must reflect on its approach and realign itself with the values that shaped this country. Unity, respect, and patriotism should not be just jargon used by Pappu in his speeches.
