Must Read

On a bright Sunday morning in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the Vrindavan Yojana Defense Expo witnessed history. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath handed over appointment letters to 60,244 newly selected constables.

This marks the largest direct police recruitment in the history of the state – signaling a new ear of law and order for Uttar Pradesh!

Moreover, each envelope handed over wasn’t just a job offer – it was a lifeline. A promise of dignity and a reward for completing a difficult training. From Satyam Nayak of Sant Kabir Nagar, the first recipient, to Roshan Jahan of Lucknow – the ceremony honored young men and women who now step into the sacred duty of keeping Uttar Pradesh safe. Their names – from Farrukhabad, Ballia, or Bareilly – are no longer just entries in a database. They represent hope, hard work, and the making of a New Uttar Pradesh, as Yogi Adityanath proudly described it.

The numbers on their own are staggering. Over 48 lakh applications poured in for the Civil Police Direct Recruitment-2023. Of these, more than 15 lakh were women, signaling a powerful and positive shift in women in uniform of today’s Bharat. In the past, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board faced criticism over a lack of transparency or slow processes.

However, under CM Yogi’s regime, the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board completed this entire recruitment cycle using cutting-edge technology and strict oversight.

The outcome? A clean, transparent, and efficient system that didn’t crumble under pressure. The result is a final list of 48,196 men and 12,048 women – a force that reflects both the diversity and grit of the state.

To match the size of this intake, training facilities have been rapidly upgraded. The state of UP isn’t just recruiting  – it’s preparing these recruits to serve in a modern, dynamic environment. This isn’t police work from the past – this is New India’s new-age policing.

Over the years, under CM Yogi, Uttar Pradesh has seen more than 2 Lakh recruitments in the police force in the last 8 years. Many believe that his large-scale recruitments make up for the years of disinterest that led to a reduced police presence in the region under other regimes. Thus, when HM Amit Shah handed over those letters, he wasn’t merely doing a photo-op. He was delivering a message to the nation and people of Uttar Pradesh – under Modi 3.0 – India doesn’t just promise youth a future. Instead, it builds a new one where every Indian has a stake. And Uttar Pradesh – once infamous for questionable law and order – is now becoming a case study in reform.

Safe Uttar Pradesh is not just a slogan anymore,” HM Shah said. “It’s a lived reality, and it will be protected by the very youth who dreamed of making a difference.”

CM Yogi echoed Hm Amit Shah’s sentiment, calling the day a turning point. He declared today as the first day of the New Uttar Pradesh. His words echoed in every corner of UP as thousands of proud families across the state celebrated quietly at home. Thus, the appointment letters may be printed on paper. However, to the 60,244 constables – they are written in sweat, sacrifice, and belief. Hence, with their names stitched into khaki, they begin their journey – one step, one beat, one oath at a time.
