India has no issues with Canada’s move to designate the Bishnoi gang, aka Lawrence Bishoi’s gang, as a terrorist outfit. That’s a good move, India had warned Trudeau’s Canada about such elements. However, Indians ask why the same Canada that bans an Indian criminal gang turns a blind eye to Khalistani terror groups operating openly on its soil.
Immediately after the Carney administration banned the Bishnoi Gang, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) placed a $10,000 bounty on the Indian High Commissioner, Dinesh Patnaik. They declare the prize will go to anyone who shares his address! SFJ is threatening Indian diplomats without fear of law enforcement in Carney’s Canada. Thus, rational voices ask: Is this the “reset” Prime Minister Carney seeks with India?
Double Standards in Canada’s Terror Policy
The Bishnoi gang is a violent criminal network, no doubt. That is why Lawrence Bishnoi is in jail! India has no objection to Canada calling it out. But why does the red line stop there? Khalistani extremists — from SFJ’s Gurpatwant Singh Pannun to smaller sleeper cells — openly threaten Indian diplomats.
Kahalistani elements accost innocent Sikhs and Hindus, spread propaganda, and run referendum campaigns for Khalistan under Canada’s nose.
The recent SFJ doxxing bounty on Dinesh Patnaik is not an isolated threat. In the past, SFJ has doxxed Indian officials, funded separatist rallies, and even incited violence against Hindu temples in Canada. Yet, Canada’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and intelligence services stay mute. They watch from the sidelines, as if threats against Indian sovereignty and diplomats don’t count as terrorism.
Carney’s “Reset” With India Rings Hollow
Mark Carney’s government talks of “resetting” ties with India. However, a reset built on selective enforcement is meaningless. Canada cannot expect New Delhi’s trust while protecting groups that openly call for Bharat’s dismemberment.
India has lost no time in designating pro-Khalistan outfits as terrorist organisations under the UAPA.
Bharat cracks down on funding networks, arrests operatives, and pushes for global recognition of Khalistani terror. Canada, meanwhile, lets SFJ run press conferences, circulate posters calling for violence, and issue bounties. Canadians grant the cover of “freedom of speech” to enact their violence. The fact that Khalistanis hate the BJP, RSS, and PM Modi is a telling fact that shows their NaPak roots. Instead of hating Indira Gandhi and her family, they hate a pro-India government that has put a stop to their Atankistani agenda in India. Therefore, these elements use the West to paint the pro-Hindu India as the “Big Bad Wolf”!
Dear Carney’s Canada, a reset cannot mean brushing Khalistani terror under the carpet while dangling symbolic gestures like banning the Bishnoi gang.
If Canada truly values its relationship with India, it must act against those extremists who threaten Indian citizens. Letting a propagandist gang weaponize Canada’s democracy to destabilize Bharat is not an act of friendship or respect.
Until Canada acts against all terrorists impartially, every “reset” is just empty rhetoric.
