The Taliban has officially made it legal for men to beat their wives. They just released a massive new penal code, and the rules are completely sickening.A husband can now legally hit, thrash, and punish his wife. The only rule? He cannot cause “broken bones” or “open wounds.”This is not fake news. This is the new law in Afghanistan. The government is now actively protecting abusers and leaving women completely defenseless.
Women Treated Like Property
The Taliban does not see women as human beings. They see them as property that needs to be controlled. By setting a legal limit at “broken bones,” the Taliban is sending a very clear message to men: “You can beat her all you want, just don’t leave permanent marks.” This completely destroys a woman’s basic rights. If a wife gets beaten, she cannot even go to a judge to complain unless she brings a male guardian. And usually, that guardian is the exact same husband who just beat her. Women are trapped.
Total Reverse Development
This is the ultimate example of reverse development. While the rest of the world is moving forward, the Taliban is dragging Afghanistan back to the Dark Ages.
Since taking over, they have stopped women from going to school, working at jobs, and even walking in parks. Now, they have taken away their safety inside their own homes. Their new law even brings back the language of slavery. They are intentionally destroying their own society.
Following Their Religion
Let’s be completely honest. The Taliban is not doing this because they are poor or because of Western pressure. They are doing this because they are strictly following their religion.
Their supreme leader signed this law because he firmly believes his religion gives men the absolute right to physically punish their families. They are proudly using their religious books to justify beating women. When the Taliban says they follow strict religious laws, this is exactly what they mean. They make no apologies for it.
The fact that the Taliban legalises domestic violence shows their true face. The global community needs to stop pretending this is a normal government that we can talk to.
A government that creates laws on how to properly beat a wife cannot be fixed. It is time to stop the fake diplomacy and call out this barbaric mentality for what it really is.
