We are proud as a Sanatani. Because, Sanatan Dharma inspires us to become true human beings.
“Manurbhava Janaya Daivam Janam” – Rigveda 10/53/6
Meaning: Become a true human and make others true humans too.
Sanatan Dharma considers all humans as children of immortality. Without giving space to any caste hatred, it collectively proclaims “Shṛṇvantu Viśve Amṛtasya Putraḥ”- Rigveda 10/13/1 meaning, Listen O people of the world, you are all children of immortality.
We are proud as Sanatani. Because Sanatan Dharma does not teach us hatred towards anyone. Rather, it showcases the highest form of generosity. The Vedas have taught us that not only all humans but all living beings are our friends.
“Mitrasyāhaṁ Chakṣuṣā Sarvāṇi Bhūtāni Samīkṣe”- Yajurveda 36/18
Meaning: See all living beings with the eyes of a friend. . .
We are proud as Sanatani. Because Sanatan Dharma does not accept any narrowness. Without making any distinction of high and low, it calls for unity and addresses everyone as brothers.
“Ajyeṣṭhāso Akanīṣṭhāsa Ete Saṁ Bhrātaro Babhūduḥ” – Rigveda 5/60/5
Meaning: You are all brothers, none is smaller, none is bigger.
We are proud as Sanatani because Sanatan Dharma regards the dignity of women as the highest. Sanatan Dharma mentions many women Rishis and mantra seers. The welfare of society, family, and the state is possible only when the dignity of women is upheld.
“Yatra Naryastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Devatāḥ. Yatraitaistu Na Pujyante Sarvāstatra Phalāḥ Kriyāḥ”।। – Manusmriti 3/56
Meaning: Where women are worshipped, there the gods are pleased. Where they are not worshipped, all actions become fruitless.
Sanatan Dharma places women in the highest seat of honor. Women are not confined to the home or considered objects of enjoyment, but are respected as embellishments of the household, rulers, empresses, and bearers of knowledge. [Rigveda 1/126/7, Atharvaveda 3/28/3]
Sanatan Dharma desires happiness and prosperity for every living being.
It ends the narrow notion of only one’s own nation’s welfare and advises praying for the peace of the entire world. Peace Chant: “Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niraamayaah. Sarve Bhadrani Pashyantu, Maa Kashcid-Duhkha-Bhaag-Bhavet. Om Shantih, Om Shantih, Om Shantih” meaning, May all beings be happy; may all beings be without disease. May all beings experience the divine goodness; may none suffer in any way. May God grant us peace from these three types of suffering: spiritual, supernatural, and natural.
The eternal laws by which God has created this universe and nature are explored by science. Sanatan Dharma is true and eternal, thus the sacred Vedas contain many timeless scientific theories. Mathematics, music, geology, philosophy, and astronomy all have steadfast presence. As explained in the Vaisheshika philosophy – “Buddhipurva Vakyakrita Vede” meaning, the Vedic statements are made with intelligence.
The sacred Vedas contain: theories of creation, heliocentric theory, Big Crunch Theory, concept of photosynthesis, solar eclipse, seven rays, water cycle, aviation along with many timeless scientific theories.
Sanatan Dharma has seamlessly embraced science. Through the study of Sanatan Dharma scriptures, we learn that modern theories of creation, photosynthesis, water cycle, seven rays, solar eclipse, knowledge related to the human body, and various scientific theories have found a place in Vedic scriptures. Amazed by such knowledge, Carl Sagan mentions in his book Cosmos, “The Hindu religion is the only one of the world’s great faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths. It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology”
So why shouldn’t we be proud to be descendants of such Sanatan Dharma?
Sanatan Dharma scriptures have not only inspired the people of this land but also spread such immortal knowledge from the East to the West. Great personalities like Carl Sagan, Schopenhauer, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Aldous Huxley, Lord Warren Hastings, Nikola Tesla, Sunita Williams, Annie Besant, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Will Smith, Sri Aurobindo, Mahatma Gandhi and many others were influenced by the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.
We are proud Sanatani. Our Sanatan Dharma teaches us true humanity.
It teaches love, not hatred towards anyone, it teaches friendship, not enmity. We are proud to be the heirs of this immortal knowledge till our last breath. Therefore, we are dedicated to protecting that, Dharma.
Because the scriptures have told us, “Dharma Rakshati Rakshitah” – Mahabharata Vanaparva 30.7, the Dharma that protects, protects itself.
