Namastey Prime Minister Narendra Modi,

As you embark on your new term following the 2024 elections, we extend our heartfelt congratulations on your victory. Your leadership has been instrumental in shaping the course of our nation. While this mandate reflects the trust and faith the people of India have placed in you, it also showcases the unattended grievances of the Hindus. Specific Grievances of the Hindu Community

  1. Management of Temples: One of the pressing issues is the government control over Hindu temples. Unlike places of worship of other religions, many Hindu temples are managed by state governments. It adds to concerns over misuse of funds and neglect of temple activities. There is a growing demand for autonomy, allowing Hindus to manage their religious affairs. This will ensure that the revenue generated is used for the benefit of the temple and the community.
  2. Education and Employment Reservations: The current reservation system in education and employment is aimed at uplifting marginalized communities. It leaves economically disadvantaged Hindus without support. Many meritorious students and job seekers from the Hindu community face challenges due to a lack of opportunities. A re-evaluation of the reservation policies to include economically weaker sections irrespective of caste.
  3. Safety and Security Concerns: Incidents of violence against Hindus in states like West Bengal and Kerala have raised significant safety concerns. Reports of targeted attacks during festivals and political clashes create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. The community looks to the government for a strong response to ensure the protection and safety of all citizens, especially in regions where they feel vulnerable.
  4. Preservation of Heritage Sites: Numerous historical sites and temples significant to Hindu culture are in disrepair. For instance, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Despite recent improvements, still requires ongoing efforts to manage the influx of devotees and preserve its sanctity. Similarly, the temples in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka need better maintenance and promotion as cultural heritage sites. Ensuring these sites are well-preserved will protect our rich cultural legacy.
  5. Bias in Media and Academia: There is a perception that mainstream media and academic institutions often portray Hindu culture and traditions in a negative light, while being overly cautious with other religions. This bias creates a feeling of alienation and misrepresentation among the Hindu community. A more balanced and respectful portrayal of Hinduism is needed!

Expectations for the Future From PM Modi

  1. Autonomy for Religious Institutions: Granting Hindu temples the same autonomy as other religious institutions will address long-standing concerns. Allowing Hindus to manage their temples independently will foster respect and equality. This includes transparent use of temple funds for religious and community development activities.
  2. Inclusive Education and Employment Policies: Reforms in the reservation system to include economically weaker sections across all communities, including Hindus, will create a more equitable society. Merit-based opportunities, coupled with support for the economically disadvantaged, will ensure that no one is left behind.
  3. Strengthening Law and Order: A robust response to incidents of violence and discrimination against Hindus, particularly in sensitive regions, will instill confidence in the community. Ensuring swift justice and protection for all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliations, is crucial for national harmony.
  4. Promotion and Preservation of Cultural Heritage: Increased efforts to preserve and promote Hindu heritage sites, such as funding for the restoration of temples and historical monuments, will safeguard our cultural legacy. Initiatives to promote Hindu arts, literature, and traditions on a national and international platform will enrich our cultural diversity.
  5. Balanced Media Representation: Encouraging a fair and balanced portrayal of Hindu culture and traditions in media and academia will help address feelings of misrepresentation. Promoting unbiased journalism and academic discourse will contribute to a more inclusive narrative.

Prime Minister Modi, your leadership has brought about significant changes in India. As you embark on this new term, addressing the specific grievances and expectations of the Hindu community will further strengthen the unity and progress of our nation. We trust that you will continue to lead with the vision and determination that have defined your tenure, ensuring a future where every Indian, regardless of their religious affiliation, can thrive in a harmonious and prosperous nation. Modi Modi
