A disturbing case of workplace exploitation and religious coercion has come to light in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. Usman Ghani, owner of SS Mall and EG Mart, is accused of sexually exploiting Hindu female employees, recording obscene videos to blackmail them, and coercing them into conversion. His wife, Tarannum, and brother-in-law, Gauhar Ansari, have also been named as accomplices.
According to one victim, Hindu girls were taken to two rooms on the top floor of the mall, where they were subjected to abuse. The accused allegedly lured them with promises of money, luxury, and opportunities abroad, but used blackmail to control them. Victims were also reportedly sent to visiting businessmen.
The case became public when one victim left her job and filed a complaint. Initially ignored, her complaint was later taken up after she approached Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer, who ordered a probe. Police confirmed receiving multiple complaints and have initiated an investigation. Reports further reveal that Gauhar Ansari recently eloped with a Hindu girl and is now in custody.

Beyond One Mall: A Disturbing Pattern
While this case involves a single mall in Deoria, it reflects a wider and deeply troubling pattern: Hindu girls being targeted through manipulation, exploitation, and conversion pressure.
This is not about relationships between consenting adults—it is about coercion, blackmail, and deceit. By exploiting the workplace, the accused turned what should have been a source of livelihood and dignity into a centre of abuse.
Such cases highlight how vulnerable girls can be lured with false promises and then trapped through threats of exposure. The shame and fear of social stigma often silence victims, which is why many incidents remain hidden until one victim gathers courage to speak out.
The Dangers of Workplace Exploitation
Workplaces should empower women, but in such cases, the authority of employers is weaponised against them. When exploitation is coupled with religious conversion, the damage is not only personal but also civilisational.
Had the victims been from other faiths, this would have made national headlines and sparked widespread outrage. Instead, crimes against Hindu girls often struggle to receive the same recognition, and this disparity itself is a cause for concern.
Final Thoughts
The Deoria mall case is not just a crime against individuals; it is a warning. When Hindu girls are systematically targeted, exploited, and coerced, it is not only their safety at stake but also the fabric of Bharat’s civilisation.
