The Georgia State Legislature has passed a historic county resolution that condemns the rampant Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry prevalent in the United States. This is the first time that a county resolution has been passed in the country to address the issue of discrimination against Hindus.
Hinduphobia Recognized On Global Stage
The resolution was passed unanimously in the Forsyth County, located in the northern part of Georgia, on 22 March 2023. It was put up by Lauren McDonald and Todd Jones.

The resolution cites various instances of Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry in the country, including the portrayal of Hindu deities in an inappropriate manner, false stereotypes of Hindus in media and pop culture, and the targeting of Hindu Americans for hate crimes.
Crimes Against Hindus
The rapid increase in crimes against Hindus as mentioned in Rutgers University report was also mentioned in the resolution. “Anti-Hindu 21 Disinformation: A Case Study of Hinduphobia on Social Media” was a major reference point which shows how the social media is used to spread anti- Hindu sentiments. Furthermore, this social media fights gets translated into real life attack on Hindu community.
Hindus in London are facing unprovoked attacks based solely on their religion. Verbal and physical hate crimes are being committed, but the media is ignoring us. Help raise awareness of #Hinduphobia by sharing this.

This we could even see in the UK’s Leicester Violence against Hindus. Racial bias has turned towards a complete genocidal tendency against Hindus on a global stage. This could be seen every now and then through social media platforms. Even the Khalistan movement is one such anti- Hindu agenda going on globally.
Dismantling Global Hindu Conference A Turning Point
Dismantling Global Hindu Conference last year became the turning point in this fight for Hindu Rights. The controversy surrounding the conference is part of a larger trend of Hinduphobia in the United States. Many Hindu Americans have faced discrimination and harassment due to their religion, including the misrepresentation of Hinduism in popular culture and media, as well as hate crimes.
Rather all across the world the increasing rates of crimes and persecution of Hindus is unrecognized. However, the Abrahamic cults which are largest in population in the world and have a whole ecosystem are safeguarded apart from all the flaws in them.
This succinct and steady attack on Hindus over the years was gravely misinterpreted through the so called conference.
After this Conference, the rise in the awakening of Hindus and the speed of their retaliation has resulted in some fruits. Especially, in USA Hindus aggressively put their issues in the forefront and mobilised the authorities.
Role Of Hindu Americans
The resolution also acknowledges the contributions made by Hindu Americans to the social, cultural, and economic fabric of the United States. It recognizes the importance of promoting interfaith understanding and tolerance and encourages efforts to combat religious discrimination and hate crimes.
#Hinduphobia: The latest @CBCNews "caste explainer" video clearly blames #hinduism and #India for the "caste system." The host starts of by saying that caste is the "newest" form of discrimination in Canada. Hinduism, Hindus and people of Indian origin are presumed guilty. 1/n pic.twitter.com/KRYzafApqT

The passing of this resolution is a significant step in addressing the issue of Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry in the United States. It sends a message of support and solidarity to the Hindu community and reinforces the values of inclusivity and diversity that are at the core of American society.
Significance of Resolution
This resolution comes at a time when the Hindu community in the United States is facing an increasing number of hate crimes and discrimination. According to a report by the Hindu American Foundation, there has been a 34% increase in hate crimes against Hindus in the United States between 2017 and 2021.
The passing of this resolution is expected to bring greater attention to the issue of Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry and encourage other counties and states to take similar measures to combat religious discrimination and hate crimes.
The Indian-American lawmakers who sponsored the resolution have expressed hope that it will pave the way for greater understanding and cooperation between different communities in the United States. They believe that the resolution will help promote interfaith dialogue and foster a more inclusive and tolerant society.
How Much Recognition Of Hinduphobia Matters?
Though Hindus do not require a certificate from the west but when it comes to the Hindu society, America has a dominant Hindu society. And they are the leading force in every sphere of American life. And for that matter, Hindus are a global force across the world rather being in minority. The way Jews have made themselves a global power by assuring that their genocide is globally recognized. Hindus must also make sure that their voice is heard equally and the accountability of the anti- Hindu crimes is taken by the perpetrators.
Therefore, it is imperative that the authorities and societies across the globe recognize this serious issue. And at the outset, Hindus must start to be unabashed about the persecution they have faced and still facing. The hatred academia, journalism and legal societies have against Hindus is to be call upon on every forum. This is the only way to make our voices heard make sure that authorities recognize the injustice.
Conclusion
Overall, the passing of this resolution is a significant milestone in the fight against Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry in the United States. It highlights the need for greater awareness and understanding of the Hindu faith and culture and the importance of promoting religious tolerance and inclusivity in American society.
