Must Read

It would be an understatement to say that PM Modi possesses an exceptional ability to inspire and energize people wherever he goes, making him a truly unique world leader. His influence extends not only to his fellow countrymen but also to foreign nationals who become captivated by his presence. While PM Modi attributes this positive flow of energy to his 1.4 billion countrymen, it is important to acknowledge his contribution to channeling this formidable force. One of his greatest contributions lies in reinstalling self-confidence within every Indian and promoting the wisdom of Sanatana Dharma. The significance of his initiative to establish International Yoga Day, recognized by the United Nations, cannot be underestimated.

Furthermore, his visionary initiatives such as Swachh Bharat (Clean India), digitization, Ujjwala (clean cooking gas for households), Awas Yojana (housing scheme), and his decisive handling of challenging neighboring countries and national crises like the COVID-19 pandemic are just a few examples that highlight his greatness. These initiatives not only uplift the nation but also fill its citizens with a brilliant surge of positive energy and self-assurance. Thanks to PM Modi’s efforts/ exceptional leadership, India is rapidly shedding its self-imposed third-world mentality.

Contrary to the portrayal that Indian society is plagued by caste discrimination, numerous Indian organizations in the USA united to play a pivotal role in the resounding success of PM Modi’s state visit. I have personally experienced the meticulous strategic planning, teams engaged in, and I firmly assert that considerations of caste, region, language, or religion did not factor into our collaboration. The Indian diaspora presented a genuine reflection of India’s cherished principle of “Unity in Diversity.”

The Indian diaspora, along with certain external organizations, initiated a significant endeavor with the “Unity March at National Mall” starting at noon on June 18th, which took place even before PM Modi embarked on his journey to the United States.

The march witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 500 individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together to participate. People of all ages, including US citizens, NRIs (Non-Resident Indians), and individuals representing various walks of life joined this vibrant procession. Regardless of gender or age, everyone exuded immense enthusiasm and fervor, brimming with good wishes for India, despite the sweltering heat of the sun. The entire National Mall area was adorned with the national flags of both the United States and India, while numerous participants proudly held placards and posters that expressed their anticipation for the highly successful state visit of the Prime Minister.

On the day of the Prime Minister’s arrival, June 21st, 2023, the Indian diaspora orchestrated a captivating cultural extravaganza at Lafayette Park, situated right in front of the hotel where PM Modi was accommodated. This dynamic and lively program showcased performances from all 28 states and 8 union territories of India. Distinguished U.S. senators and congressmen honored the event with their esteemed presence. Once again, I dare anyone to scrutinize this instance with the precision of a microscope, and they will not find even a trace of discrimination based on caste, region, language, or religion exhibited by the Indian diaspora.

True to his distinctive style, the Prime Minister further ignited the diaspora’s enthusiasm by stepping out of his protective security circle. He warmly shook hands and waved to the eagerly awaiting crowd, leaving a lasting impression on all those present.

On June 22nd, 2023, the dedication of supporters of the Indian-US partnership was rewarded when US President Joe Biden extended a special invitation to the general public, granting them access to the White House grounds to witness the esteemed “Welcome PM Modi ceremony.” This unprecedented, extraordinary occasion attracted a crowd of over 4,000 attendees, affording them an exceptional opportunity to experience the magnificence of the ceremony directly from the lawns of the White House. The occasion was marked by a remarkable 19-gun salute, adding to its prestige and significance. On that very day, the Indian diaspora’s enthusiasm received another significant boost, as they had the privilege of witnessing PM Modi address the US Congress for the second time during his tenure. This moment served as an additional source of energy and inspiration for the diaspora, further strengthening their bond with PM Modi and their sense of pride in his leadership.

On June 23rd, 2023, PM Modi brought his trip to a close with a heartfelt address to the Indian Diaspora at the Ronald Reagan Building. He expressed gratitude to the diaspora for their invaluable contribution to India’s remarkable growth journey and took the opportunity to share the accomplishments and milestones achieved during his visit. PM Modi’s words served as a gesture of appreciation and recognition for the Indian Diaspora’s unwavering support and commitment to India’s progress.

The age-old question of whether the chicken or the egg came first may never be definitively answered. Similarly, it may be challenging to determine who truly drives the brilliance of whom—the Prime Minister or the enthusiastic public supporting him. However, one thing remains undeniable: our hardworking and visionary PM has a remarkable ability to harness the power and positive energy of his supporters. In sharing my firsthand account, it is crucial to express gratitude to the dedicated workers within our community, many of whom I know personally, who toiled tirelessly behind the scenes, playing an integral role in ensuring the resounding success of this visit. Their unwavering efforts deserve recognition and appreciation. Jai Hind!
