Peacefuls And Black Progressives Clash Over Kamala Harris on Social Media

A civil war of words has erupted within the progressive movement in the U.S. over the past week. The battleground is social media, where Peacefuls(Muslim) activists and members of the Black community, who once stood together over shared causes, are now clashing over Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Divide: Kamala Harris and Palestine of Peacefuls

This conflict stems from differing views on Vice President Kamala Harris and her administration’s stance on key issues. Particularly U.S. foreign policy regarding Israel and Palestine. Traditionally, many Black progressives have been strong supporters of the Palestinian cause.

However, tensions have recently flared as Vice President Harris, a figure admired by many Black progressives, has taken a more centrist approach to her policies. Her support for Israel has sparked outrage among Muslim activists and some Black progressives who feel the Palestinian cause is being sidelined.

Social media platforms, particularly Twitter, have become the arena for this conflict. Muslim activists have been vocal in their criticism of Harris, accusing her of betraying progressive values and failing to stand up for Palestinians. They argue that the administration’s policies continue to perpetuate injustice and oppression.

One of the key points raised by Muslim activists is the notion that Black Americans “cannot think for themselves” and should align themselves with their views on Palestine.

Conversely, some Black progressives have rallied in defense of Harris. Emphasizing her historical significance as possibly the first female Black President. They argue that her achievements should be celebrated. And that her role in advancing other progressive causes, such as criminal justice reform and healthcare, should not be overshadowed by foreign policy disagreements.

And Black progressives have fiercely defended their right to independent thought and political autonomy. They expressed that they can choose the candidate of their wish and no one can force them to choose. They have also pointed out the historical context of Arab involvement in the trans-Saharan slave trade. Highlighting that the Arab world enslaved more Black Africans than Europe and the Americas combined. This counter-narrative has been used to challenge the moral authority of Muslim activists who demand Black solidarity for Muslim causes.

Accusations of Peacefuls Hypocrisy and Opportunism

The debate has gained significant attention on social media, with both sides accusing each other of hypocrisy and opportunism. Black progressives argue that Muslims often prioritize their own struggles while expecting unwavering support from them. They assert that their community should focus on its own interests. And Blacks should not be pressured to place Muslim issues above their own.

As always in all the struggles the Peacefuls have been the first ones to take up arms against the leftist. Whenever either the Islamist or Leftist have come to power they have prosecuted the other. The best example is Iran where the Left and Islamists fought against the Shah but when Islamists came to power the Leftists were killed.

Each one views the other as a Useful Idiot until they come to power. So it is not surprising that the Peacefuls are showing their hypocrisy.

A Movement at a Crossroads

This clash has exposed the underlying tensions within the progressive movement. Where differing priorities and historical grievances are increasingly coming to the forefront. As the argument continues to unfold, it is clear that the progressive alliance in the U.S. is facing a moment of reckoning. The debate over Kamala Harris and her support for Israel has brought to light the complex and often conflicting loyalties within the movement. It raises questions about the future of this broad coalition.
