With an enormous ₹76,651 crore in debt, one might think the state has pressing issues to tackle. However, the Sukku administration has ordered a CID probe into misplaced snacks. CM Sukhu’s was set at CID headquarters to inaugurate their Cyber wing’s new Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS) station. However, the refreshment for the CM, cakes and samosas, went missing. The CID launched an in-depth investogation as to where the snack boxes went! Thus, the Samosagate of Himachal Pradesh was launched with full fanfare.

The official report labels this mix-up an “anti-government” – because it insulted cm sukku’s presence where his staff ate the “samosas” meant for him!
The Himachal administration has issued show-cause notices to multiple officers over samosas. BJP Himachal has quickly jumped into mock Congress for making snacks a government priority. Netizens and analysts are doubled over in laughter, claiming that only in a debt-ridden Congress-ruled state could have snacks steal the spotlight while pressing issues are swept under the rug!
It’s safe to say taxpayers aren’t thrilled that their money is funding such culinary investigations.

This isn’t the first time Himachal has gained attention for eyebrow-raising policies and laughable scandals. Remember the “toilet tax“? To raise funds the Sukku administration decided to tax urban users on a per toilet basis. The ridicule received made the Congress government flush this tax very soon.

The Sukku administration is already under fire for the “water hike” scandal as water now costs more in both domestic and commercial connections. The free water scheme by the BJP was discontinued by the CON party in rural areas for anyone with an annual income of more than Rs. 50,000.
And let’s not overlook the absurd “pothole pride” project! The Kandi residents and students are up in arms about the lack of decent roads to drive on! Instead of fixing potholes, the government took out ads congratulating itself on its “efforts.”
With “Samosagate” now joining this legendary lineup, Himachal Pradesh’s government is proving that no issue is too small to be blown out of proportion.
