With a record medal haul, Bharat is emerging as the new sports superpower, Bharat’s ascendance in sports(Asian Games) is a welcome message for Bharatiyas
Bharat is the next big thing in world sports. The recent Asian games have seen Indian sportspersons shining the name of Bharat by putting on an excellent display of sports performance.
Sports require extremely high levels of fitness with a disciplined lifestyle with a hunger for success. Bharatiya sportspersons have highlighted exactly that.
The record medal haul in the Asian games is also of symbolic importance-it showcases the rising prowess of Bharatiya women in global sports; it is also a manifestation of the growing strength in almost every arena of societal life.
Medal Tally
With an unprecedented haul of 107 medals that included 28 gold, 38 silvers and 41 bronze medals.
India set a new benchmark for themselves at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China.
It was the first time in Asian Games history that India’s medals tally crossed the three-figure mark.
By doing so, they became the only fourth country after China, Japan and the Republic of Korea to win 100 or more medals in a single edition of the Asian Games.
Women make Bharat Proud
Bharatiya women won immense laurels for Bharat by putting on a spectacular display of sports performance.
Manu Bhaker combined with Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan for gold in the 25m pistol with a world record of 1759 while Sift Kaur Samra smashed the world record in the women’s 50m rifle three positions with a huge score of 469.6 points.
Sanjana Bathula became the youngest Indian to win a medal at the Asian Games after she won the bronze in the women’s speed skating 3000m relay event.
She was just 15 years, three months and 11 days old when she won the medal.
The Time has Come
The time for Bharat’s rise in sports is here. No longer will Bharat be sidelined from major sporting events. We will rise and will keep rising.
The record medal tally, shouldn’t, however, make us complacent. We must continue to perform and continue to deliver. The government of our country must continue its efforts in nurturing more such sporting talents in our country.
Hence Bharat’s ascendance in sports is imminent.
